Sovereign Pakistani Parliament Cannot Convict Musharraf

Last week was some how overshadowed by the magnitude of confrontation witnessed in the National Assembly, after nearly a break of one decade. Where Ch. Nisar and Haider Abbas were seen holding on to each other by the horns evidently, in reality the 342 member parliament has sealed its fate for years to come. Once again by themselves the politicians and political forces have given a vacuum first for a convict to escape and secondly another culprit to emerge some time soon.

I don’t know but my ears get sick of listening to the manifesto presented before the masses after the elections last year. It seems like a new breed of politicians have evolved, bathed from the holy waters of democracy, when all we heard was that “national reconciliation” and “parliament sovereignty” as the talk of the town. In the books of wisdom new additions were made that no matter how much oppression you are subjected to, democracy will fight it out. Amazing!

Mr. P.M, honorable Gilani has so softly rung the defeat bells for parliament in terms of Musharraf trial by saying that Article 6 will be an option if it is possible and “lets do the doable” are indeed not the words which one would like to hear from a man, who holds the key to the most sovereign institute in the country. Any way, especially the idealist opposition in the shape of PML-N was day dreaming until now if they had in mind that Mush will stand trial, as far the current time is concerned. Whether a foreign hand or a hidden hand, simply written the lack of “will” is the real factor.

But at the same time one is also amazed by the priorities in the mind of our political players. Where nation is still searching for answer to questions like have they overcome the Taliban dilemma, whether we will spend the next year again without adequate electricity or will there be any flour and sugar left for the consumer, the establishment has the other way around. In terms of reconciliation we have a visible answer that what they really mean by it. One still sees Balochistan as neglected as ever, still a fight is under way for the prized throne of Punjab and now Mr. Holbrook will be the person to decide the fate of local bodies’ government in Pakistan.

What we want from them is that for once stop playing with words and be honest to the nation what you really care. Instead of sorting out what is “doable”, it will be better that from now on do what you can and accept what you cannot. The whole crisis seems to be a personal feud or clash between two individuals, in which they always find a playing field to carry it on. We know very well what has already been settled in terms of drones, at least its still time to stop what is coming in the shape of American colonization of Pakistan (the new consulate in Islamabad and 7,000 marines).

It was well understood that Mush has secured a safe exit before he left the place and he has not left any space for any further action. Now this can have only two implications i.e. it was unavoidable to give him this passage or in some way the present establishment has followed the trend by which they have kept an option for themselves open, in case the time arrives and use the same path. This action has left the 160 million Pakistanis once again depending upon the shoulders of Supreme Court to answer the call, as the corridors of power have simply stopped exercising the authority.

US only accepts that democracy where the so called elected leaders are loyal to their masters, but if they are not, like in Gaza,Afghanistan(Taliban),Iran,Venezuela etc then they label them as terrorist. The President of the country claims to be the champion of democracy, selected a country(Egypt) which is not a democratic country to address the Muslims all over the world and taught them the lesson of democracy. There is no denying the fact that US and even the other Western countries have got dual standards.
The word “sovereign parliament” is itself quite funny,in Pakistan any decision against the wishes of US cannot be implemented.Pakistan is virtually like one of their State. We dare not think of taking any decision as per our wishes and requirements,if we will do so we will be made to pay the price. The same so called sovereign parliament approved Nizam-e-Shariat in Malakand division, but was not liked by our masters.
The rulers in Pakistan are just dummies, they do what they(US) desires. The issues like Mush trial are just there to keep the masses busy in watching lot many talk shows on TV channels so that they forget there worries like power crisis, price hike,poverty,illiteracy,……….etc.
Now its time for the government to issue another NRO for Mush,so that all cases/FIRs against him are declared null and void.

@Hamid: There is no such things as democracy. Wherever there has been a leader elected by people’s choice the U.S. termed the leader as brutal and against democracy (i am beginning to understand the meaning of democracy being synonymous to United States of America’s policies). Then they forcefully changed the government of that country. Now, i cannot believe that someone who has not lost his head would have voted for the current ruling government of Pakistan.

Anyway…as for Mush i read that he is planning to re-enter politics. This November his political participation ban will expire. He has been in talks with the nazims (which is a green signal for him)…

If only the public would become mature and look beyond their trivial differences. The fact is unity the means to success. It has been repeatedly mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. If only one would comprehend that.

believe me the only comparision I can find between black water is no different from midevil European mercenary armies,, hired for the sole purpose of being a demolition force,,
any way we must not mislead our selves,, the question is the presence and its implication,, enough of the drama of democracy for Pakistan, this is the only democracy valid and recognizable to US alone,, what a democracy where 180 million are against an action but ironically they are never consulted,,
Till today the 111 brigade of army is the instrument of deterrance and hijacking,, which is practiced every time a coup has taken place,,,,,,,,,,,,,imagine 7000 US marines placed even closer to that 111?

@Kashif Aziz: JAK for the link….well, to say the truth it’s going to be tough for then here. They are fully loaded with weapons and in this land the people are fully loaded with courage and bravery.

They better leave and stick to their country. How low could the Pakistani government come?? How could they allow them in our country? Have we clearly become occupied Pakistan?

Lol. Hmmm…no, maybe i just meant to tell Kashif to beware. Nothing personal :D.

But not a bad idea, though.

Anyway, about those alien forces in Pakistan. I am told that there are so many of them in Peshawar that you see more of them instead of the local forces. And they are brutes.

They break into the flowing traffic (well people hardly follow any traffic rules in Pakistan) if they have a tiff with someone they either shoot the person then and there or some form of torture technique is taken up as a revenge.

    Allaho ‘Aalam

Ha-haaaaaaaa! Dang, General Bullmoose–Momina’s blown my cover! I’m made! Does this mean I can go back to my idle whittlin’? Boy, she’s sharp! I was afraid I couldn’t keep her fooled for long!

Momina, there is no hidden message, Sweetie. You have a vivid imagination. 🙂 I have no clue what the Yanks are doing in Pakistan, though “black water” might mean something about oil. You know as much about it as I do.

Decipher the hidden message, Kashif 😉

Hi, Kashif: Well, yeah. At first I thought they were Marines, sent to help clean up the border area of Taliban, hand in hand with your army like decent soldiers. Further reading indicates that they’re “guys in black,” and God only knows what THEY might be up to. They probably think they’re going to do some good, somehow, but they won’t tell you what in case they fail and end up looking guilty and stupid.

The US treats simple citizens like me like mushrooms–feed us bullshit and keep us in the dark. Wish I could be more helpful.
My advice to you would be to avoid them unless you’re keen on cloak-and-dagger stuff, all hush-hush and powerful and secret and IMPORTANT. Been there myself; you can have it.
