Indians don’t like Slumdog Millionaire

Indians have protested against the award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire because it shows the real face of India. The film has shown the conditions under which most Indians live (in grinding poverty and filth). Several hundred people attacked a cinema house in Patna, protesting at the title of the film. About 40 Mumbai slum dwellers, organized by a social activist, held up banners reading “Poverty for Sale” and “I am not a dog” outside the home of Anil Kapoor, one of the film’s stars. Film star Amitabh Bachan also accused the film makers of portraying India as a “third-world, dirty, underbelly developing nation”.

I don’t know why he was offended. Four out of ten Indians go to bed hungry every night. The scenes that we see in Indian movies and tele-plays which show men and women always enjoying life do not depict the real India. The real India is in the slums, where the streets are filled with shit and the air stinks of urine. It’s time for Indian leaders to concentrate on improving the living standards of the starving population of India and not to spend on projects like sending rockets to the moon.

@Vinod: For the sake of argument, there are many Pakistanis who have visited India and made their mark there. Strings, Atif Aslam, Junoon, Amanat Ali, Shakeel Siddiqui, Hanif Raja, Javed Sheikh to name a few. Don’t mention Meera as she is B class here as well.

And, if Pakistanis like your movies, Indians are crazy about Pakistani stage shows and drama serials of yesteryear.

We all Know about Pakistan’s Addiction for Indian Movies ,Music and TV Serials…Pakistanis Love to Watch Indian/ Bollywood Movies n TV Serials..and They will Die without watching them 🙂

How many Times Pakistan Government tried to Put Ban on Indian Movies n TV Channels Broadcastings n Showing them into the Theatres…but Pakistanis violeted all these Bans…because They dont want to see LOW BUDGET POOR CLASS Pakistani Movies n Serials and MUZRAS…
They want to See Latest World Class High Budget Indian Movies with Special Effects and Music…
Thanks to all the Pakistanis 😉

There is No Platform for Pakistanis Talents to show their Talents in Pakistan so They come to Bollywood-Mumbai n Showed their Musical Talents n Acting skills in Indian Serials and Movies .
Well I liked Meera…but Her Kissing scene with an Indian Actor baffled Many Pakistanis and Mullas…
She had said She wants to rule in the Bollywood ..but She failed to Survive here in Bollywood.
But Pakistani Singers and Actresses will Keep coming to Show their Talents in India ..where They get real Publicity,Fame and Recognition.
Although not a Single Pakistani entertainer Has got any International Award n Recongnition till Now…

Amitabh Bacchan , Aishwarya Rai Bachchan,Aamir Khan, Nasiruddin Shah,ShahRukh Khan ,Shayamlan, Kabir Bedi…are Indian International Celebrities and World Knows them….
Can U pleaseee tell me any Pakistani International Celebrity Name?

A.R.Rehman is a Brilliant Musician and singer….and at last He got His Fame and Recognition….
    Jai Ho….Jai Ho….Jai Ho…..

ya My dear Lakhani …I am worried about my own Country India.by getting worried about Dangerous Situations n Crisis in Pakistan…because Pakistan is our beloved Neighbour 😉
Infact whole world specially USA is worried for Pak too
You know We may be influenced by whats happening in Pakistan
Pakistan is holding some Low Quality Atom Bombs…We are concerened for that if they fall into the Hands of Talibanis and used against Israel or India…You may assume what India will make of Pakistan…each n Every Major Cities of Pakistan will be destroyed n Pakistan will be turn into Ashes.

att Raj: eight out of ten Indians live below the poverty line, earning less than two dollars a day. If you ask me, there is a great danger of India being taken over by fanatics (like the VHP/Shiv Sena/Bajrang Dal). What are you doing to stop it?

  5. Shakir Lakhani Avatar

att Vinod: please don’t worry about Pakistan (it has been under attack from Day One!), try to look at what’s wrong with your own country. When you see a girl being married to a dog, at least write to your newspapers that it’s wrong!

Why indians always compare themselves with us? Never let go of any opportunity to defame Pakistan and try to convince us as well..wonderful! Then if there is no opportunity they would go ahead and create one.. and the largest democracy they chant about block our waters..hmm and they cannot ever pateintly read/hear/discuss real criticism on India whereas like to blast Pakistan for anything with logic or otherwise. what a shame incredible bubble of India!

Pakistan is in Biggest Crisis….there are Talibanis who are Ready to Capture Pakistan and there are two Major Political Parties Fighting with Each-other…
Nawaz Sharif and Jardari wants to Hold the Leadership of Pakistan..but now its all Unstable.
And whole Judicial System has been Collapsed.

Nawaz n Shahbaz Sharif are going to be arrested n Lawyers n Other Protestors Long March to Islamabad is going to be stopped Forcefully By the Army.
    shame!

    Pakistan is a Failed State…
Pakistan Army is always in Power there and Once Again They are Ready to kick Pakistan Democracy n They are proceeding for Army Rule once again.
I m sure Lt Ayub Khan will be celebrating seeing these situations in Pakistan 😉

1.My Answer to your Jawab 1 on Swat.
Indian media is omnipresent and omnicient therefore i know whats happening in Orissa and this is sad and a big nation like India is bound to have at times rough patches and this is a passing cloud.
Trust me my friend if in Pak the same level of conversion would taken place, from Islam to Christianity then there would have been 100 times more casuality.
I i was in Swat forget about conversion i wouldnt be able to send my daughter to school. If good sense prevail please dont compare Swat to Orissa. Orissa is no supported by government and now things are under control.
Swat in other hands is in the hands of extremists who abducted people and who are lawless. Your own President accepts it and if you want i can send you the link to the interview given to cnn by ur PM.

2.Regarding Cast system in India – Yes we did have a cast system once upon a time which was apt for then, now this system does not go in sinc with mordern world and has been twisted and these untouchable and otherstuffed cropped up.
Cast initially described the nature of work you do and it had nothing upper and lower.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION – Today to correct this wrong notion in the air in each vilages the head of Panchayit has to be from a Cast wich was looked down earlier. In south India this transition has taken place and there is no lower and upper cast system.
Mayavathi is from so called unpreviledged cast and today she is the most powerful women in India.
I can give you so many stats to prove that cast has broken its barrier and people have emerged victoriouse. Last not but not the least : I SWEAR BY GOD that i am from the so called backward cast once upon a time.
Today i and many others profitted by the reservation system in education to bring us up. My dear friend I will invite you to India to my place and beleive me you are my guest and youwill see how it is today life out there. Today if i am successful in the little means its all for secularism that India adopted and the correction action introduced to equate the differences.
I agree still we have miles to cover but i am glad we are on the right track Unlike Pakistan who gives it in the hands of murders and those who deny the basic rights of people and bring down schools.

    3. Sir your contradicting big time:

    Your Jawab:
“Worry about your own problems sir. Dont worry about us. Thank you for your sympathies, it means a lot to us. Really.”

Sir i worry about you because you are my neighbor and and i want to see stable Pak and not a Pak which gives up in the hand of mullahs and Taliban.

My dear friend for a min forget that you are pakistani and i am Indian, lets think we are Humans and touch your heart and on the name of allah tell me, Dont you think that Pakistan is getting into the hands of fanatics. The entire world is worried about Pakistan today has it has become the most dangerouse place on the earth.

Look at this clipping and my friend understand why i and others in the world are worried on Pakistan’s extremism.

    4. In regard to Cricket i dont know where you get this information that India stoped Srilanka from Touring Pakistan.
Reason1 – Srilanka is also a troubled state so they are bound to tour pakistan as they face similar situation and they need to raise funds for their team.
BCI is pro PCB and dont propogate such rumours friend, as this is the only left tie up between us. Today Cricket needs India more than India needs cricket, this was the famouse quote by Australian captain Ricky Pointing on BCI.

    5. Peace deal between Pak and Taliban.
My friend wake up and come to reality.
The deal is for Taliban not to attack your army in return to impose Sharia and your army should move out of the region which means Taliban rule Swat valley.
Friend this peace is just a sillence before the storm as Taliban will influence people and radicalise the region and thats what the world is worried as today things get to overspill and others too are hurt in the process.
Please dont support any religiouse rule my friend.
Lets put back Religions and just learn to love Humanity and this is essential for our survival as today the world is a small place and we either need to live in peace or all die fighting for petty ego and in name of religion.
I pray to Allah that Human kind should understand that the essense of religion is to realise peace but the same is used by some to destroy the man kind. Inshah Allah hope good sense prevail.

    6. Your statement ” I believe there are some EU countries that are considering the Shariah option for those wishing to have their proceedings presided over in such a system.”
I am sorry friend that absolutely wrong, tell me one country in EU who opts for Shariah. There is a judicial system and there is no bypass and i guess thats right as justice can not be brought in haste. Patience pays off.

    7. We have a similar nuclear deal with China which was signed in October if i am not mistaken.
Friend Please dont argue for the sake of arguing.
    let me educate you.
India got a “clean waiver” from the NSG in turn signed the NPT.
Which means India can buy nuclear fuel from NSG members
and build its civil nuclear program to fullfill its civilian requirements.
Pakistan can not buy nuclear fuel from China or exchange nuclear technology with China officially as China itself is a NSG member and can not violate the conducts.

My dear friend let me tell you this, Pakistan is not my enemy nor Pakistanies. Infact i have lots of good friends who hail from this country and we share great moments together.
Also I respect Islam and not against any religion. My focus is to love everyone and not hate anyone.
Your blog had some provocative statements on Indians and India and thats why i responded in similar fashion.
I respect your comments it was a diplomatic response which i appriciate and i hope i have done justice in the same manner.
I am open to exchaning views in a proper language to appropriate context.

I am not saying India is perfect but what i am saying is India is on the right track and though we have to cover extra miles.
I wish Pakistan and other countries of these region unite where we will see a prosperouse South Asia and the kashmir problem will be solved if we have something like the South Asian Union with free trade, fee movements and focussed only on growth and peace. Insha allah i wish this comes true one day and my friend if i offended you or your contry in anyways i am sorry. May god bless us!!!

Mr. Raj. As-Salaamo Aleykum wa Rahmit Allahu wa Barakato..

I would like to take the initiave to answer to these posts of yours, which I found a bit jingoistic

    You Said:
Pak dont die of jealousy… Look at Swat… what more you guys need…

    Jawab:
Okay – we’re looking at Swat, as there is much coverage on it. The peace-deals will hopefully bring just that — peace.

Time heals everything. Inshallah it will see tourism once confidence and security is fully restored. The people of Swat tend to be more conservative, but they arent terrorists. And I think we would know the ground realities better since this is our country. Incidentally, such deals took place before such as in 1969. In fact, americans and Afghan govt. are hoping to promote such a deal in Afghanistan’s restive south.

If you want to talk about ‘’needs’’ –then I suggest you become an activist and/or wake up to the realities of Orissa State, where Christians are being slaugtered and being made a refugee in their own indian homeland. Its quite depressing.

    You Said:
In Pak you have Swat, Insha Allah we dont have.

    Jawab:
Yes we have Swat, Murree, Chitral, Karakorum region –and other areas that are green, rich in resources and high potential for tourism and commerce. We have some of the highest peaks in the world in the Himalaya region.

(Alhamdolillah. Allah SWT has been kind to us.). Recent tragedies in our Northern Areas (from where I personally hail from) have us upset, but we are resilient people who know how to move on with life. At the end of the tunnel there is always light.

Taleban are declaring a ceasefire, but our Army will keep an eye out on things. One good thing is that the Frontier Corps regiment is now getting good training and experience in the art of guerilla warfare –which is much more complex than standard conventional warfare.

    You Said:
Anyways its wrong to compare India to Pak as we dwell as an emerging supperpower

    Jawab:
I always enjoy the inevitable laugh when i hear these indians use this line….

Just dont forget that yours is still a caste-society and internal divisions in india (along the lines of caste and wealth) are so high.

“If a man of inferior caste tries to sit down on the same seat as a man of superior caste, he should be branded on the hip and banished, or have his buttocks cut off.” — Manusmrti 8:281.

A must see documentary (3 parts). It is a great review on this “ECONOMIC SUPERPOWER” as many jingoistic Indians would try to make you believe.

With all due respect, sir, your top elite forces took over 65 hours to stop 10 drugged up lightly-armed terrorists. I think there is much time before your country can be considered a worldpower. Ä°ndia has made good economic improvement though (and please dont do the typical indian defensive thing and post how many billionaires are indian, because nobody cares about a few brahmin elite).

    You Said:
where as you are the haven of terrorism and a crippled economy begging to other country for your survival.

    Jawab:
Another very standard and obsolete line we have grown to be bored of. Just dont forget who are fanning the flames by treatment of civilians in the occupied Kashmir.

It may be prudent to ask — in past & present, who has been supporting tamil tiger terrorists –who are terrorizing a lovely country (Sri Lanka)

    Do read this:

    India’s home-grown terror dilemma
    An excerpt:

The fact that alleged Hindu extremists – including a serving army officer – are now in custody, accused of carrying out at least one of the recent bomb attacks, suggests that the authorities may have to broaden their investigative efforts.
But general elections are looming in India. The opposition is stepping up its criticism of the government’s response to Mumbai.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7902036.stm

    You Said:
Today as an indian i can only pitty your situation

    Jawab:
Worry about your own problems sir. Dont worry about us. Thank you for your sympathies, it means a lot to us. Really.

    You Said:
and say this: “Pak bro, dont feel jealouse rather get inspired by India and throw away your fanatism and give up on Kashmir you will never get it.

    Jawab:
We say ‘’We are not jealous, because jealousy is a sign of weakness in the heart’’

We will never give up on the Kashmir struggle. I think it wouldnt be wise to think OTHERWISE. Lets be realistic here. I personally wonder why indian government has been reluctant and tense to discuss the issue on an international panel.

Incidentally, we have been seeing all the unrest and anti-indian army rebellion in prime areas (such as Sri Nagar, where Pakistani flags are constantly being raised) —and these are leading many people to ask questions.

    You Said:
I know you Paki cowards will not publish the truth anyways you admin will get to read my earlier posts and you will burn of frustration as you know the reality

    Jawab:
If you have grievances, you are more than welcome to contact the administrator himself. Ad-hominem personal attacks –such as those you are waging — merely show ones own weakness and immaturity.

    You Said:
and this act of yours critisising India is to express your frustration.

    Jawab:
It is most unfortunate if you feel that way. As it turns out, this is a forum for discussion. Views and ideas are food for thought. You can either participate in a respectful manner, or you can find an alternate avenue –as it seems you yourself are willing to critisize and vent frustrations of your own.

    You Said:
What a pity, you live today with Swat and still you have balls to talk on India.

    Jawab:
Of course we live with Swat. It is a part of Pakistan. As for ‘talking on India’ — remember my earlier statement.

    You Said:
Who in the world wants to play cricket in Pak

    Jawab:
As i am typing this message, we are playing Sri Lanka in a much awaited test match. If im not mistaken, india tried to pressure Sri Lanka not to carry out the test (which is taking place in Karachi).

Luckily, wiser councils prevailed. It is quite immature (and counter-intuitive) to bring politics into sports. I trust most would agree.

    You Said:
and your players beg to play in IPL… hahaha die of jealousy thats what alah will bless you with if you deny the truth

    Jawab:
Actually it was india who offered contracts to them, which they accepted. Business is business. Sports is a form of entertainment, and a business. But most importantly, they (in an ideal and non-tainted sense) is not meant to confine people to one border.

Not sure what you mean when you say we are jealous about this fact. In fact we are honoured that indians would acknowledge our cricket players’ talent.

    You Said:
Pak today you have surrendered to Taliban,

    Jawab:
I think you should learn more about the peace-deals and the taleban themselves (a very splintered group).

The whole point of the peace deals were to defeat the taleban. It is the taleban who have agreed to lay down their arms. Not the Pakistan Army. In fact, the operations against militants are still ongoing. But those who are dis-arming are being brought to the disucssion table. Sufi Mohammad himself (a self-declared pro-taleban) said that he will use his forces to fight against any militant/miscreant elements who violate the peace-deal.

    You Said:
tomorrow this bug will eat you and you will be the Afghanistan II.

    Jawab:
Not sure what you mean by ‘bug’ ….Kindly elaborate. But the ground realities in Pakistan are different. Taleban ideology simply cannot survive in Pakistan. My only advice to the country would be for us to re-build our judiciary system so that justice can be served quickly and efficiently. As is the exact same case in india, in Pakistan the courts often take hundreds of days to serve justice between plaintiff and defendents. The taleban on the other hand are known for their swift justice. Therefore, we will implement Sharia courts in Malakand region so that the armed taleban cannot proceed further.

This is no cause for alarm. Sharia courts are also set up in United Kingdom, and I believe there are some EU countries that are considering the Shariah option for those wishing to have their proceedings presided over in such a system.

    You Said:
Look at India we have got the Worlds confidence and have the nuclear treaty signed with US

    Jawab:
That’s great for you, if it benefits society. We have a similar nuclear deal with China which was signed in October if i am not mistaken. But nothing comes for free, sir. USA has pressured india to delay cooperation on the ISI Pipeline. Essentially, india has compromised its long standing ‘all-weather’ ties with Iran.

In fact, hindustan even voted against Iran at the UN during resolutions regarding its civilian nuclear program. It is important to keep this in mind.

Both countries have ever-increasing power needs. So such deals are inevitable. Hindustan has been more responsible (in western eyes at least) with nuclear technology than Pakistan has. But the trade-off is that we helped friendly countries (Iran, Libya & others)

    You Said:
and England plays cricket just after the Mumbai aftermath.

    Jawab:
After a delay, due to traumatized British players who were subjected to an over 60 hour affair –the Britishers did return to play the match amid ever-tightened security measures. Sanity prevailed —as the Brits knew better than to mix politics with sports.

    You Said:
today you are ruining and no one can help you till you accept the truth and throw away your mullahs and fanatism

    Jawab:
A confusing closing statement by you. Kindly elaborate?

    regards,

    Lt. Gen. A.K.-47
