Pakistan’s Problems and the Solution – II

Desires, sins and Pakistan’s problems are on the rise simultaneously.

Instead of chasing Allah people are hell bent on chasing desires. Instead of Allah, desires have become the purpose of life.

What is the reality of desire. First there is great excitement. And then you have what you wanted and suddenly it is meaningless.

That’s how one moves from one desire to another desire. That’s how one remains a beggar. Your whole life proves it again and again — every desire frustrates. Again you have to create another desire to escape this pain. And the emptiness is there, ready to eat you up.

The emptiness of the soul cannot be filled with material things. It can only be filled with the worship of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Every muslim is obsessed with material things and for this he/she is ready to pay interest on ‘loans’ despite warnings from hadith and Quran.

Rasulullah has cursed the one who accepts interest, the one who pays it, the one who writes it, and the persons who gave witness to it, and said : “They are all alike”

“O you who believe! Fear Allah and give up what remains of your demand for interest if you are indeed believers. If you don’t, take notice of War from Allah and His messenger.”[SURAH BAQARAH 2 : 278/ 279]

Rasulullah said : “There are four kinds of people about whom Allah has decided not to admit to paradise and not let them taste its bliss : the one who is addicted to wine, the one who takes interest, the one who exploits the property of an orphan and the man who is disobedient to his parents.”

When instead of reading the Quran every house will play music do we really think our current situation is going to change.

Allah Most High says: And there are among men, those that purchase idle tales, to mislead (men) from the path of Allah and throw ridicule. For such there will be a humiliating punishment (Surah Luqman, V. 6). This verse was revealed in relation to singing and musical instruments (Tafsir ibn Kathir, 3/442)

Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ashari (Allah be pleased with him) reports that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: There will appear people in my Ummah, who will hold adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments to be lawful (Sahih al-Bukhari)

When instead of worshipping every muslim in his/her ‘spare’ time sits in front to the T.V. watching and consuming garbage what hope can we have from Allah?

If the eyes are corrupted, then the heart follows. It becomes like a rubbish heap where all the dirt and filth and rottenness collect

When every girl/woman that walks on the street is looked at with lust then why should problems be solved by Allah?

In a hadith it is said “The glance is a poisoned arrow of shaytan. Whoever lowers his gaze for Allah, He will bestow upon him a refreshing sweetness which he will find in his heart.”

In a hadith, the Prophet (saw) is reported as having said: “And the eyes commit zina (adultery). Their zina is gazing.”

Every Muslim should spare no pain in lowering his/her gaze and preserving his/her modesty. This should occur in compliance with the Divine command given in Surah An-Nur: “Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest.” (An-Nur: 30-31)

The more a person indulges in sin the less its effect and a heavier dose is needed next time. This is the reality of sin. Sins cause pain in the form of anxiety and depression. Why does a person with wealth fame and fortune commit suicide? His soul is scarred which will heal only by Allah. With the worship of Allah. With daily salat and zikr of Allah. Thinking about Allah. Talking about Allah. The need of the soul is Allah.

This life is a test. In order to motivate us to pass this test, it is very important for us to understanding the reward for controlling one’s desires and staying away from sin.

Jannah is a place where a person will have all that he/she desires, and he/she will live a perfect and everlasting life. Each pleasure at Jannah will be infinite times superior than the pleasure found in this world. In this world the more you indulge in pleasure the more they decrease but in jannah the more you indulge in them, the more they will increase.

Rasulullah said “It is sparkling light, aromatic plants, a lofty palace, a flowing river, ripe fruit, a beautiful wife and abundant clothing, in an eternal abode of radiant joy, in beautiful soundly-constructed high houses”. [Ibn Maajah, as-Sunan]

The Sahabah asked the Prophet (saw) about the buildings of Paradise and he replied with a wonderful description:

“Bricks of gold and silver, and mortar of fragrant musk, pebbles of pearl and sapphire, and soil of saffron. Whoever enters it is filled with joy and will never feel miserable; he will live there forever and never die; their clothes will never wear out and their youth will never fade.” [Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, ad-Daarimee, Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 3/29]

The palaces of Paradise have been prepared, and in their gardens are places to sit and recline, beautiful couches of delightful colours and high beds whose interiors are lined with silk brocade There are cushions and splendid carpets laid out in the most delightful fashion.

Women in this world kill themselves with dieting and are ending up with various diseases like bulimia and anorexia and are lining up in record numbers for plastic surgery. Lets see what Allah has in store for believeing women along with what I have already mentioned above.

Rasullulah said : “The believing women of this world will be 70,000 times more beautiful than the hur of paradise”

In another hadith “Allah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies. They will be fair in complexion and will wear green clothing and yellow jewelry. Their incense-burners will be made of pearls and their combs will be of gold.”

A person’s goal should be jannah. We should do sincere taubah from all our sins and have a firm, firm intention not do commit sins again. If we don’t our present condition is not going to change. Our soul will keep screaming for Allah and we will keep lying to ourselves. Sins causing pain is not just limited to this world. They also cause pain in hell.

very well said. i agree with very word except the first paragraph but i will not get into an argument because i have already stated my position on that.

yes there is more crime here and people are very depressed but i do not talk about it because nobody says Pakistan is progressing.

i do not talk about a perfect society. I talk about a society as close to perfection as possible and i have never talked about isolationist worship.

Just to take a look at the condition of eman take a look on friday. For the friday prayer there isn’t enough room to pray in the mosque and after a few hours for asr there are only 2 rows. Gives you an indication of the level of eman.

the foreign pwers have wealth and they have respect. they have technology and they, as any realist can see have a bright future.their societies are thriving(except for japan and parts of europe)
owr society is are falling apart.
u seem to not want to acknowledge that and hide behind the fact that lots of people there are depressed and that there is crime there(even though there is less crime there than in the muslim world).
u have to realise. there can be no perfect society of our making. even a totally muslim society can at best be fair to all segments of society,it is impossible for thing created by man to be perfect.
you believe in an impractical, impossible dream. tell me how do you plan to spread eman in the hearts of us pakistani, almost all of us of whome are muslim and who consider ourselves to have eman already.

and this life is for struggling to do good, not for isolationist worship.it is better to live a wholesome healthy family life making an honest living than living in seclusion and in constant worship. a muslim muslim must be a productive member of society. a muslim is supposed to help others and be a good example for the rest of the world.islam is supposed to be a blessing for everybody. through his action and word he should impress non-muslims. a muslim who spends his time avoiding the big bad man world outside is a coward and is wasting his life

there is nothing more nobler than to take a stand against injustice and corruption and working for the collective interest of your community.
but you cant enfore this ideal upon the everyday normal muslim.

“explain japan, china america and western europe and their progress?”

    progress? LOL

which progress are you talking about sir? progress where anxiety pills and anti-depressants are a million dollar business. progress where people are commiting suicide every day. progress where murder and rape is common. progress where drug addiction is common. progress where divorce is common. progress where crime, transgression, opression, exploitation, robbery, theft and fraud is common. Please.

There is one progress which Allah talks about. This progress is the solution to all problems. This is the progress of Eman.

Paksitan’s biggest problem is over-population. As long as the mullahs keep on saying that birth control is a heinous sin, illiterate Pakistanis will try to have at least ten children. And that is why most Pakistanis are very poor.

    – Allah’s ‘qanoon’ with muslims and non-muslims is different. Allah has given non-muslims time till their death do do whatever they want on earth. This is their heaven. A muslims heaven is after death. This life is for worship. Otherwise nothing but destruction will happen. Look at the state of the muslim world.

im talking from a non-dogmatic position. how do nations with out faith progress? through education, stability and political progress.

explain japan, china america and western europe and their progress?
people who focus excessively on dogma lack the realism to do what it takes to progress. what we need to do is focus on achieving progress and stop beating about the bush like we have been doing fo 50 years. being muslims and followers of the universal religion we must always stay rational and realistic.it should never be us who gets left behind.

“i do not see the oppression and the corruption in china which i see here in Pakistan.”

    – yes, there is more corruption here, i agree.

“BUT you first need to have a foundation on which you can build on and that foundation is an educated population and political stability.”

    – yes, we need education and political stability. i have never disagreed with that. However, that is not the foundation which you can build on. Eman is the foundation on which you build. When eman is strong, everything else will come.

Consider the following and tell me what is the foundation.

    – Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) said: Just as you are (your actions are) so will your rulers be.

    – In a hadith qudsi, it is reported:
    – I am Allah, there is no deity besides Me, I am the King of Kings and the Master of Kings, the heart of Kings are within My control; when My servants are obedient to me, I make their rulers kind-hearted towards them; when they disobey Me, I turn their rulers against them with anger and tyranny, they then oppress them severly. Therefore, instead of cursing them, turn towards me in remembrance and submission, I will protect you against their tyranny.

    – In the Quran, Allah Ta’ala states:
“And thus We subjugate some oppressors to others due to their doings.” 6/129.

NO SOCIETY CAN BE PERFECT.but its wonderful that the the rest of the world is making such progress despite all the oppression in their societies, isnt it?
in europe at the start of the industrial revolution they also had awful labour conditions. but they improves. these things take time. there is no magic stick which causes instant progress. societies progress over time.
i do not see the oppression and the corruption in china which i see here in Pakistan. here there is so much corruption that its selp destructive. there despite all the imperfection in their society they are making progress.
BUT you first need to have a foundation on which you can build on and that foundation is an educated population and political stability.

“i dont see oppression in that hard work.”

    – YOU DO NOT SEE OPRESSION??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many companies who use sweatshops prefer to use children so they can pay even less or nothing at all. Most sweatshop laborers don’t even get paid enough to survive on. Thousands each year die from exhaustion caused by over work(12+ hours per day,7 days a week), injury from machinery, abuse by factory management, and sickness due to unsanitary conditions. Children are the majority of the people who die due to this immoral exploitation of workers.

Women make up the mojority of sweatshop laborers. Most of these women are between the ages of 15 and 22. Companies that use sweatshop labour to increase their own profit margins take advantage of people.

Injustices perpetrated by factories that employ the use of sweatshop labour are numerous. Women are paid as little as six cents an hour and work ten to twelve hour shifts. In many instances overtime is mandatory. In some cases, women are allowed only two drinks of water and one bathroom break per shift. Sexual harassment, corporal punishment, and verbal abuse are all means used by supervisors to instill fear and keep employees in line.

“I spend all day on my feet, working with hot vapor that usually burns my skin, and by the end of the day my arms and shoulders are in pain,” a worker told labour rights investigators. “We have to meet the quota of 1,000 pieces per day. That translates to more than a piece every minute. The quota is so high that we cannot even go to the bathroom or drink water or anything for the whole day.”

Verbal abuse is very common, and workers regularly report being harassed and bullied by shop managers. Workers who managers think are not working fast enough are usually the target of shouting and yelling. Physical abuse is also not unusual. Workers have said managers regularly hit them and slap them, according to the Workers’ Rights Consortium.

Sexual abuse is endemic. Most garment workers are women, the vast majority of them young women in their teens or twenties who have left their homes for the first time so that they can earn money to send back to their families.
