Some quotes from Qur’an Mr. Lakhani:

“And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans, except they should worship Me (Alone).” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:56].

“O assembly of jinns and mankind! Did there not come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting unto you My Verses…?” [al-An’aam 6:130]

“… Verily he [Shaytaan] and his qabeeluhu [his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe] see you from where you cannot see them…” [al-A’raaf 7:27]

“And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame o fire.” [al-Hijr 15:27]

“And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire.” [al-Rahmaan 55:15].

“An ‘ifreet (strong one) from the jinns said: ‘I will bring it [her throne] to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily, I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work.’ One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: ‘I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!’ – then when Sulaymaan saw it placed before him, he said, ‘This is by the Grace of my Lord…’” [al-Naml 27:39-40].

“ ‘And some of us are Muslims, and of us some are al-qaasitoon (disbelievers – those who have deviated from the Right Path). And whosoever has embraced Islam, then such have sought the Right Path. And as for the qaasitoon, they shall be firewood for Hell.’” [al-Jinn 72:14-15]

DID u know there was a surah in Qur’an called AL-JINN???

“[Some jinn said:] ‘There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups, each having a different way (religious sects, etc.)’” [al-Jinn 72:11]

For protection from the harm of the jinn

“Say: ‘My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the shayaateen (devils). And I seek refuge with You, my Lord, lest they may attend (or come near) me.’” [al-Mu’minoon 23:97-98]

    And manyyyyyyyyyyyy more.
If u provid eme with ur email id I can email u a whole book about them. with too many Qur’anic references.

anyway, im not a scholar just trying to be a practising Muslim. Pray and i may be a scholar one day :).
nowadays anyone with just basic islamic knowledge becomes a scholar.
i know my qualifications and i know what i am…what knowledge i have is nothing compared to what real scholars have.
    fee amaan Allah

@ Momina: you seem to be a scholar of Islam, so please tell me (according to the Holy Koran alone and not the Hadith), what are jinns? Remember, don’t quote any scholars, just tell me if jinns are defined in the Holy Koran and where. By “defined”, I mean what are they made of? Thanks.

Mr. Lakhani, ur idea about educated people, im sorry to say, is quite wrong. if u think scientifically u would be calling what we call jinns negative forces or energy….and that is totally weird to be polite. tell me if u truly believe that the Qur’an is the Words of Allah then u wdnt be so skeptic abt this issue. all scientific discoveries that have been mad u would surely be aware that they had already been mentioned in the Holy Book. and that was th reason why soooooo many Western Scientists embraced Islam. When its mentioned in Qur’an that black magic does happen, of course by the Almighty’s Will alone (and that can be a test for teh person or a form of expiation for his/her sins), then i fail to understand why dont u accept it. i have seen many people feel embarrassed to agree to such things because majority of westerners dont believe it. or at least they have this notion. u would eb surprised how many of teh westerners actually practice black magic. there are so many anti-christ followers in US alone and many more in UK as well.
Muslims have become so feeble-minded that whatever the West says is right they get the permission to call it right and vice versa.
being modern doesnt mean being westernised. and definitely doesnt mean being blindfolded. islam encourages modernisation because Islam is a modern religion, a religion for all times and people.
If u accept Islam u acceot it wholly, u dont choos what flavour suits ur temperament and what doesnt. Thats plain hypocrisy. Dont adjust religion for urself, bcause then its not Islam what u r following.
Black magic is Haq, just like evil eye. One should always remember Allah and they would be safe from it.
I dont know how more to make this matter clear for u, but always remember that this life is very short, and w should prepare ourselves in this life for teh Hereafter.
whatever beliefs we have taken up for our comfort and rejected others, we would be questioned for it.
May Allah guid all Muslims and give them courage, ameen!

After converting to Islam recently I decided to visit Pakistan not just out of curiosity but to experience a country pivotal in present day international politics and where social customs and passion about Islam resonate to the countries policies and customs. However though I found Pakistani Muslims warm, kind and effusive in their hospitality as were all other Muslims in other countries I visited, I sadly noted a few things which do not give a new Muslim any confidence to learn much about Islam from Pakistanis. The first thing I noticed was the immense disparity between the rich and poor. I could not believe that a rich Pakistani Muslim who had poor Muslims as a servants would not allow them to eat at the same table with him. Indeed though some were kind to their servants many also treated them unfairly, rudely and with arrogance. The rich Pakistanis I found were eager to be far nicer to “white” westerners than others, in fact they were almost groveling and fawning. They were most critical of Islam, Wahabies and Arabs and most admiring of Israel, Jews, Turkey, Hindus and India. They could not stop apologising for Osama and Islam and could not wait till the country morphed into a secular Turkey somehow. Then you had the Nationalists, who had very little to do with Islam or its teachings and everything to do with blind support of Pakistan at any cost. You could criticise Islam all you wanted to them but dare utter one word against Pakistan and you could see their hair bristling with rage. Nationalist, the affluent and secularists could always be found at all night raucous singing, yelling and grunting orgies of song, “paan” (an Indian concoction of beetle leaf, nut & spices which make one salivate and spit red sputum in containers or where ever, as long as you did not hit someone’s shoes), and tea well past morning Fajar prayers. Or you could find them in ‘underground’ alcohol parties where fat and very unattractive vulgar writhed away for the pleasure of fat disgusting rich men and boys frothing between paan, kebab and “Jonnie Walker” – liquor of choice for Pakistanis. Walking through the markets in the city of Karachi, the poverty was unbearable and as were the palatial palaces and wealth of the rich Pakistanis. The poor could barely afford a “naan” or bread, while the rich splurged on Pizzas, burgers and regularly spent on a single night wining and dining what it would take an average Pakistani a year to earn. The other thing I noticed was the absolute filth. There were “pissing” walls designated in market places where men simply lined up and pissed on a wall, all the while standing in a huge pool of urine that accumulated into a huge pool and now flowed like a river down the dusty roads. I was told to watch out for my possessions as almost everyone was a potential crook and thug and true to warnings there were almost daily incidents of car jacking, mugging, murder, house invasions and kidnappings. Then there were people doing other very odd things that defied Islamic teachings such as worshiping saints at their graves and begging them for miracles, selling amulets and charms and very much like some Christian sects, taking out religious processions where they would parade painted portraits of saints and cut & beat themselves bloody with knives and chains. Pakistani culture or Pakistani Islam is a melange of Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism and Christianity. There is rampant ignorance, illiteracy and poverty and general misery. I can say this for anyone who has converted to Islam, Pakistan is not the first place to visit to be inspired. Great food? yes. Hospitality? yes. Islam? None whatsoever.

Brother Yusha, I had some clarifications about the nail amal for protection of house:

    1. If the house is big, should the nails be hammered in every room or 4 nails will suffice for the entire home.
    2. Is there any expiry period after which the nail amal would weaken.
    3. Even after the nailing amal, if there are some haram activities or some sihr objects inside the house, that might create loop holes in the protective covering of the house for the jinn. What should be done in such cases.
    4. Has any one tested and validated the nail amal, like testing the reaction of a possessed person upon stepping inside such a home.
    5. Preferable, before the nailing amal, Azaan or Iqama should be recited to drive out the lingering jinn and then perform the amal.

    JazakAllah
