Why Afridi Bites the Ball?

Shahid Afridi bites the ballWhat on earth will be more embarrassing for the cricket loving nation than this? Shahid Afridi has been caught by TV camera suspect as tampering the ball by biting it with his teeth in the dramatic fifth and final ODI at the WACA Ground in Perth. Television cameras caught the captain taking two vigorous bites along the seam of the ball at the end of the 40th over. The ball was immediately examined by the umpires and replaced. One of the more bizarre incidents to have been witnessed in international cricket which no one wants to watch again.

As a consequence of this Shahid Afridi has been banned for two T20 matches. Afridi apologized for his actions last night claiming they were borne out of frustration. The desperation to win the match by hook or crook was evident from his behavior showing that the moral of the team is at lowest level now. Though the shameful act did not justify it. Just for a second thought it might be intentional as to keep his record of being the most successful T20 skipper for Pakistan team unharmed.

Whatever the reason may be, desperation to win or for the sake of records, his act is a sheer disappointment for his fans as well as the nation. Wake up PCB!

A few months ago even NZ captain Vettori has implied that Pakistan do something to the ball. Cheating has been institutionalized by your legends but the problem in this instance was the crass manner in which uncouth Afridi did it, almost thinking that he was playing in Pakistan.

Darrel Hair is controversial for what? Speaking the truth? or catching Pakistani team? He was the only person upright enough to say what everyone already knows…that Muthaya or SL chuck the ball.

I may have been a little harsh (truthful) on Yusha but that was in response to the earlier insults from him and Shakir. Waqr, Akrm, Imrn may be legends in Pakistan but playing sport is about honesty and ball tampering is not honesty, it is plain cheating. Contrary to your comment, I don’t see Yusha either accepting his blunder or being a MAN yet, ask him if he is prepared to be one. Sporting spirit please.

    Grow up……….If you don’t like I shouldn’t write?
means I should consult you before writing any thing……….

    your comments are abusive sometimes……….

Darrel Hair is controversial for sure. As far as Waqar, Wasim and Imran are concerned you will be flogging dead horse by saying that they were practicing the same as u cant prove it so leave it. They are legends and the best Pacers.

As far as u calling Pakistani players cheat again and again…….Note that he is man enough to accept his blunder and now facing punishment for it so it will be wrong on your corner to use that word again n again………..

Sports should be played with sportsmen spirit and I would appreciate if it appears in your comments too.

Now that even Hina has asked you to grow up, please do and be more matured like Hamid Abbasi. Stop wetting your pants in your sleep and having nightmares all the time. As Mahdi said, BE A MAN and ACCEPT your STUPIDITY, ofcourse it does not mater anymore because rest of us have already accepted your stupidity.

By the way did you look at Afridi’s face when he was immediately called by the umpires? Bladdy cheater was looking like a joker. And yeah some more of your cheater ex players are supporting him…disgusting mindset.

@Maddie: Little boy, I only commented to counter Hend’s lies. As for telling Hina, If I don’t like the post, of course I’m going to tell her that she shouldn’t have wriiten it. As for not answering your comment in the other post, are you assuming that everyone is here 24/7 or haven’t you realized by now that comments are held in moderation. Your entire comment, right from the beginning till the end shows that you need to work on your comprehension skills. Maybe if you stop drinking .. cola, your brain would work a little better.

The fact is, these guys are now too old to play cricket. Besides, I’ve heard that Afridi has also joined the group (like Inzamam and Yousuf before him) that believes life begins after death. Let him quit the game and go on long tours teaching other Muslims how to eat, piss and shit.

Mohammad, you are beginning to sound like a winging kid who’s crying, but doesn’t know for what…

This is probably your third post telling Hina that this article shouldn’t have been here in the first place…However, you are also the one who has commented the most on this article. That shows how much importance you give to this article. Mate, if you don’t like it, leave it. You don’t have to read it and you certainly don’t have to leave comments one after the other. And if you like the article, acknowledge it!!!

Mate, you can’t have your feet in 2 boats heading in the opposite direction. That will only result in torn pants. And if you still persisit, then you might end up tearing something else as well.

You are also sounding like Afridi when you say that “This has been done by cricketers of all nations.” You haven’t answered my question from my first post: “I haven’t heard fo cases where players from New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or Zimbabwe have been reported for any such offence.”

I’ll give you the same advice that I would give to Afridi:

BE MAN ENOUGH TO ACCEPT YOUR STUPIDITY AND SHUT-UP!!

Or maybe the man-enough thing doesn’t work with you….

Hina, i believe the answer to your question as to “Why he did that?” lies in one statement that Afridi made after admitting his so called mistake (I say ‘so called’ becasue mistakes are done unknowingly…this was on purpose).

Anyways, one of the statements that Afridi made was “I was justrying to help his team win a match, ONE MATCH!!”

He really stressed on the words ‘ONE MATCH’. I guess that shows the desperation of the players after loosing 3/3 Tests and 5/5 ODIs.

    >>>If someone is caught cheating, we punish them, that is part of sporting culture everywhere, except ofcourse your country.

@Hend: Your useless comments only provide for a good laugh. Australia has had ball tamperers and they are famous for sledging. Of course, they won’t be banned because that is reserved for Pakistani cricketers.

Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid getting away with a ban does not change the fact that they were ball tampering. The calibre of the Indian side shows when they feel the need to tamper the ball against sides like Zimbabwe, like in the case of Rahul Dravid. As for Sachin Tendulkar, we all know how he was “cleaning” the ball with his nails. Something expected of a useless side like India. Also, there has never been any proof against Wasim or Waqar. Both were masters of reverse swing whom Indian commentators praised endlessly. You think they got reverse swing and came up with swinging yorkers by ball tampering in every match? Please stop commentating otherwise I will die laughing.

@Hina: This is a very disappointing post. What Afridi did has been done by cricketers of all nations. Why don’t you write about that?
