War on Terror and its endless cost

war-on-terror-poster.jpgPakistan has reportedly and repeatedly said that we are fighting war on terror for the whole world. After 9/11 the situation became worse day in and day out for us. Afghan insurgency and Suicide bombings were the terminologies we’ve heard in past few years only and increased our vocabulary. The paradise of Swat valley, which I always have a dream (still not fulfilled) to visit is ruined. Pakistan Army is bearing all the responsibility to clean up this mess first in Swat and now in Waziristan.

Not only the Army is bearing the loss but the poor and innocent people are also paying the price of this war. Bomb blasts and suicidal attacks have become routine news for us. Peshawar, Swat, Lahore and now Multan, blasts occur as a daily routine in past week. Apart from the loss of lives and properties, psychological impact of this carnage is so shocking. People have now developed a sense of immunity so that they react towards the devastating news in rather passive manner, probably because they know that they can not stop it. In this frustration among common men who feels helpless, one day the breaking news would be ‘there’s no Blast today’ and people will react towards it.

The role of interior ministry is now days restricted only to give statements after every blast that we condemn this act and bla bla. Their efforts and fool proof security arrangements are still a question mark while most of the blasts are targeted at Police, security agencies and ISI buildings. Is it enough of War on terror now? How long can we bear the loss of precious innocent lives of our people? Probably we are heading towards another long march or revolution, this time not for judiciary but for our rights to live in a peaceful society rather living a frustrated life.

While Kasab is in Indian Custody, Indian media can play with his statements. Apart from that I strongly disagree with you saying that this fighting will not stop till india interfere militarily.

Respect the sovereignty of Pakistan at least when it is now more than 60 years old. Pakistan and its Army is there to resist military interference.

My opinion is the media shoulk step in here and take control. The middle class ofcourse should come out and take a unanimous stand against extremism behing the Pakistan Army.

endless cost that we will continue to pay if the middle class does not rise and take a stand against this extremism thing. We have to unite. These people are muslims too but they are being used so we need to get rid of this extremism element.

so one day off fill my email inbox, some sane some insane. but i will answer all on them.

    @ Faraz,

with americans on top, this kind of feeling (that Indian Nation is basically feminine – representing the women of that play) gives you even more pleasure then i have no objection. but tell me seriously have you read that play? read it. as with author i was portraying mental aspect, which you will realize how true for pakistan, and true for america as well.

    @ Hina,

we didn’t laugh when Mumbai was under attack…
    really!!! i have my doubts.

made me think about the statement in media that Indian involvement can not be ignored.
having slave (he confess that his father sold him to let for money) like ajmal kasab in our hand we are least bother about such allegations.

It is our war and we are fighting it & INSHALAH soon win it.
even i will pray with you and all the nobel one to take pakistan out of such mess. it is better to fight one head monster than the thousand one. but know that this fighting will not stop till india interfere militarily.

    @ Shakir,

now even the U.S. is acknowledging that India is behind the terrorism in Baluchistan.
can’t say about your day dream, but heard your FM saying different thing.

though my answer to hina sufficient for your, err… sorry US allegation, but like to answer to you differently (sic.. i am making my comment boring one)

why on earth terrorism in baluchistan affect you or any other pakistani who is not native of baluchistan. only because person who were trained their are coming to lahore, karachi, islamabad or rewalpindi?

who has stopped your government last 60 or more years to give package like zardari-gilani government right now giving to baluchistan. why after more then 60 years your government thought that giving democratic right like elected body to people of gilgit- baltistan (why not whole pak occupied kashmir? and why not made poll figure public… becasue it will show your true face?). what’s more i have fear like a righteous baluch that you are using them for your own purpose and when time will come you sell baluchistan like you did with aksai chin.

It has always been India which is responsible for the problems in the region (Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Tibet, Sikkim).
OMG… thanks for not blaming us for unrest in iran’s sistan-baluchistan, dubai world crisis, switzerland’s poll on minarets, 9/11, mass genocide in tiananmen square, and so many others.

The best thing for India to do is to concentrate on its own teeming poverty-stricken masses instead of spending billions of destabilizing other countries.
we like to, only if you let us.

The cost is high there is no doubt but what other option do we have? We have to fight these extremists out of our land and we need every individual and medi’s support in it before they take over Pakistan. How the media can support? Give this a look I like it.

I’m at loss to understand what do you mean by Pakistan Army is bearing all the responsibility to clean up this mess?

Had it shown any sense of responsibility by standing up to the dictator Pakistan would probably never have been in this mess. The militants crossing over border, bomb blasts in the mosques, Indian involvement are all a gifts of army’s eight year glorious rule.

When heavily guarded army installations are being attacked, we are emulating the ostrich instead of debating that who bears responsibility for such blatant security lapses.

And kindly do not fool the already confused Indian, we distributed sweets on 9/11 and would have done the same during Mumbai but it was late night. The public at large however, was indifferent if not pleased by what had happened.

@Mr Shakir India is only enjoying the benefits of what we have served them on a rather elaborate platter. A simple question, what would you do if your loved one vanishes without notice i thin air? A dead body at least gives closure.

thats the difference between you and us. we didn’t laugh when Mumbai was under attack but you mentioned you did which made me think about the statement in media that Indian involvement can not be ignored.

Indian will always cry ab8 Mumbai attacks and US will always carry on with its grief of 9/11.

    @hina,

noted playwright Vijay Tendulkar had written a memorable play called Sakharam Binder, which was acted by my favorite actor nilu phule.

in play sakharm use women and through as object, when table turn he feel the pain what he had inflicted upon so many women.

with these terrorist pakistan has given pain like mumbai one and mumbai two and so many others, and have no feeling. but now i believe you understand our feeling.

as far as Pakistan has reportedly and repeatedly said that we are fighting war on terror for the whole world.

you are wrong. pakistan is not fighting for the world, it is fighting for own survival.

sorry, we indian don’t feel pain when these bomb blast in pakistan, infect we laugh.

p.s. wikipedia has not great article on Sakharam Binder, find another one.
