The Indian magazine which had published Veena Malik’s nude picture was sued by her for Rs. 100 million, but the magazine has counter sued her for Rs. 250 million.
That is not the only problem Veena Malik is facing. Her father Malik Mohammad Aslam says he has disowned her.
“I have severed all ties with her and I don’t want her to have any share in whatever meagre assets I have until she is cleared of the controversy and pledges not to visit India again.
I can ignore if she disobeys me but I cannot tolerate anything against my country and my faith.”
Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik has said that strict action will be taken against her if she has done the photoshoot.
I can only wonder why this is getting so much publicity when there is no proof yet that she has indeed done the photoshoot. Until and unless there is concrete evidence that Veena Malik posed nude for the magazine, people shouldn’t form opinions, especially with things like “shameless” and derogatory words in Urdu on websites.
Regularly there are reports about Afghans throwing acid on the faces of school girls in their country. I wonder why that does not become news. I wonder why there is no uproar or outrage over such a grave crime and serious matter. However, a woman poses nude and a whole country goes berserk.
