TTP Commander Maulana Fazalullah in Afghanistan

Not long ago the news has started floating that the barbaric TTP Swat commander Fazalullah has informed international media that he is safe and sound inside Afghanistan. To add more spice it has been confirmed by a reputed international media organization that the number used by Fazalullah has been traced back to Afghanistan.

Till now the biggest achievement we got in this drive against terror was the conquest of Swat and its adjoining areas, where lately Fazalullah and his mislead forces had gone on a rampage. This is a great set back for those who have claimed victory until now. All we use to hear was that he was under siege, in a bad shape and his arrest was around the corner. But it seems that with the aid of a smoke screen he has managed to escape. In any case his network has been greatly destroyed, his aides either dead or captured. Impressive performance isn’t it??

But this should not deviate us from the point I want to raise here. To my surprise the US embassy strongly contradicted reports that a US army helicopter has flown from Bagram to collect a special cargo from inside Waziristan, just on the eve of “Rah e Nijat”. This cargo was none other than TTP Leader Hakimullah Mehsud. The allegation is nothing new; it follows a charge sheet presented by Pakistani army to General Mullen where our forces had protested the relocation of allied check posts just before the operation started.

This relocation, as proved with time was none other than to give these mercenary forces a clear gateway to flee the offensive, in order to be back for destruction in the next few months. Join every thing together and one is left guessing either of the 2 things:

1) For 8 years you Americans have dragged us into this?
2) How more will we appease them in order to set our neck free?

Till now I have always opposed one school of thought which remained undecided whether this is our war or not? But today I feel may be I have become a part of a different school which thinks whom we have pleased since 9/11??

The day our military ended the barbaric hold of Swat from Fazalullah’s men, I had one thing at the back of my mind. We have fought against a force which is funded from outside (no specified name I will mention), launched on a specific agenda to destabilize us and after Swat there line of strength has been broken, agreed. Now having said this not me but the entire like minded were urging the government to release the evidence, foreign links bla bla that have been retrieved from the TTP of Swat. In other word as I mentioned in my last work “A Costly Miscalculation in War against Terror”, the final frontier in this war will be the diplomatic disclosure of these assets, including its full access to Pakistani media.

But of course like always a government driven by moral justification rather than national interests,, they found it better to hide them under their seats and this is the trap where we find us today. I still remember the words of a martyr’s father who said on camera” Let them send their own sons out there to realize what it feels”.

I write this last paragraph just to make it evident that the spirits of our forces and their dedication has been tested and Alhamdulilah they have surpassed the most well equipped force in this guerrilla showdown (Allied forces in Afghanistan)…… The war as we believe is funded from bases in Afghanistan so how can you end it while conquering Waziristan.

Again the enemy has struck in the cover of friendship. For them we are equal to what they revealed in the Kerry Lugar Bill. Why to let our generations suffer for a foreign agenda……………in no way I want a message to be conveyed that we have fought a wrong enemy, our struggle was right while we fought the militants but to achieve the final push we have to differentiate between a friend and a foe, those who are bent on sending a “complimentary note” to the US for Kerry Lugar or those who have willingly allowed them to carry arms in Islamabad are out to doom us all. The Americans have dragged the whole war into our land just to save there tail. It is time to let them understand that may be it’s not only our future but their too which depends on this war. This double agent role needs to be exposed. At least don’t let us be fooled by our own people. We have the right to know who we have to fight for. Else we are digging our own grave by keeping the facts close to our chest!

@ Hamid: Well, since the US and Pakistan are not shooting at each other, but are trafficking pretty busily, I assume they’re getting along amicably. This would indicate that each has something the other wants. Are things so good on the ground and streets of Pakistan that some major re-organization, probably with US assistance and without major loss of life, hopefully, would be totally out of order? Things get stale or out-moded and have to be freshened up from time to time.

@Mohamed: I addressed the Aafia matter on another thread, sorry I forgot which, but it’s here somewhere. I don’t think her case is considered, at least in the US–and clearly not by the authorities in Pakistan, either–as a human rights issue, but rather as a criminal issue. Being female or a mother doesn’t grant any form of amnesty here–any lawbreaker over 18 years old, or alleged one, is treated the same here regardless of gender; if there are children involved, the Court sees that they are cared for in the most practical way, for their greatest benefit.

I also don’t think that her case is really very addressable without knowing her personally–her character, beliefs, personality, and all the facts surrounding her circumstances by personal observation. I understand that she is or was an exceptionally bright spark, of the type many people admire and have high hopes for, which increases the anguish when they somehow run afoul. I’ve read many of the very emotional comments of her countrymen to release her–yes, it’s a terrible shame when a family gets broken, mother is in such trouble, and children are separated–, but I think the comments are missing the point, or deliberately ignoring it–she supposedly tried to shoot a couple of US persons acting in the line of duty, who wanted to question her about her association with a group that was an avowed enemy of the US. If I had done that, I’d be in jail, too, if I recovered from my perfectly legitimate police bullet wounds.

A gun is an equalizer; if anyone shoots at a cop–old man, little kid, mother of ten, the President–anyone, the cop has to shoot back, even if it breaks his heart to have to do so. No country can maintain law and order and its integrity if it makes any unqualified exceptions to its exclusive right to use deadly force (of any kind) in the name of the nation. What would happen to you if you shot at or threatened or cussed out a couple of Pakistani cops who wanted to question you?

BTW, since you seem so caring of Muslim women, I think it was you who dodged my question about what Muslim women get in Paradise in Shakir’s “Virgins of Paradise” thread. I would surmise that they might want, instead of twelve female virgins, a couple of cooks, a couple of maids, a couple of laundry-women, the husband made fully handsome, wealthy, attentive, even-tempered and house-broken, a couple of beautiful, well-behaved genius children, some bosom girlfriends to giggle with, and perhaps one or two others for purposes unspecified. Probably their wishes would vary; ask your wife what she would want. Might surprise you 🙂

@James: Hamid’s apprehensions may be too large and unweildy for you to address, however Aafia’s case is not such an unaddressable one. Hamid says:
“AAFIA a pakistani haz reached a US court with her children missing………she has been charged but no1 haz askd hw come she reachd dere……or how frm karachi she ended up in a cell of bagram…..nd frm dere hw she got so fed up dat she attacked 2 US soldires(if dats true at all)…”

This is a human rights issue and not a single American rights group seems to be bothered about it. It was disappointing to see no response from you either, but I am sure you could do something as you seem concerned for Pakistan and consider Pakistanis your fraternity. Do you think it would be possible to engage some American human rights group to take-up this issue and bring the culprits to justice?

my dear for me oil is not the primary reason……….i mean just imagine the cost of these energy adventures……in mid east and central asia………they would run in trilllions while at d same time these holders of oil cannot eat sand in case thye decide to stop the supply………..for dat u need only a coprative regime rather dan a subordinate……….
my point is based on the hypothesis of ex ISI boss Gen Hamid Gul
    “9/11 d excuse…..afghan 2 use……nd Pak 2 remove”
now logically US has nothing to gain out of it….nd it gaind even nuthing from 9/11 itself…..i mean such a rich heritage of invincibility being hijackd by a group of jehadis………so dis takes one in a different scenario….
    i mean a 3rd party or parties playing d trick………
dis is wat in pakistan our point is……take a macro view regarding where dis situation is heading…….i wont give u d exact thesis here bt just check “d great game for pakistan” under my name………..

Hi, Hamid: Thanks for the fraternity, old boy; you’re okay in my book, too. I do worry about your blood pressure sometimes–you seem to care a lot about huge issues that seem to me very complex and hard to solve. I had to do some homework to try to give you a straight answer.

On the assumption that all this fighting is ultimately about oil, I googled “world oil supply,” and read perhaps fifty links saying this or that, and found enough contradiction to conclude that they were all lying, and the only way to distill the truth about how much oil the world has left is to read every link and find an average. Even then you’ll be limited to what is known and posted.

Apparently there’s oil in the north of Turkmenistan and another bunch in Balochistan. BIG OIL tried to pay the Taliban for security for the needed 42-inch pipeline which has to run through Afghanistan, but the Taliban aren’t trustworthy. It appears that they’re collecting money and assistance from everyone, shifting patrons frequently and playing them against each other, as the main interests all try to eliminate each other by using the Taliban.

Part of the problem is that none of the main interests understand the word “share,” and the arms makers and militaries just love a fight and those jillions of 60-cents bullets and million-dollar missiles that get pissed away. This is big money flying in every direction; as long as these people benefit from chaos, they’ll do nothing to stop it and everything in their power to encourage it. This includes all governments. Some good words–“democracide,” “kleptocracy,” it’s a long list.

You frequently lament being “invaded.” I daresay we were invited, or possibly, welcomed when we came by the ones who stand to gain from the game. The US has been invaded, too, by 36 million Mexicans, and the authorities don’t seem to care, nor do the white folks, either, really. There are a few million Pakistanis here, too, and a hundred million from everywhere else. We’re all invading each other, kinda fun.

Like General Khan said, pop some popcorn, sit back in the loveseat and enjoy the show. Your turn. 🙂

my respect for US has never faded…..nd its history from 1776 has been one of my fav……..at chowrangi”an open letter to us policy maker/obama” i did my best to convey to them how we have 10,000 miles away adopted ur theory of
“government of the people for the people and by the people”
but why the US have always wantd it like this
“governmment of my friends…..on innocents nd weaks….for my and only my national intrests”
in this article i also urges d US citizens to ask there representatives for the accountability…………coz every bullet….every tom hawk cruise and every insurgent funding is coming from their taxes………AAFIA a pakistani haz reached a US court with her children missing………she has been charged but no1 haz askd hw come she reachd dere……or how frm karachi she ended up in a cell of bagram…..nd frm dere hw she got so fed up dat she attacked 2 US soldires(if dats true at all)…
james u like a bro…..bt treat us also in d same way………….manmohan and obama deciding afghan fate in washington…….while both dnt share any geography with the country……..
    amazing…….
