The Fear of Ghosts!

Why do people fear of ghosts or darkness?

I still fear ghosts and whenever I am alone at home even at daytime; I sit near the door and switch on the TV in a loud mode. Whenever I hear some sound my heart starts beating violently and sometimes I begin to perspire.

I don’t deny of existence of ghosts and super naturals but the way I behave is not right. And I am not the only one to behave in this way, there are many people who act like me.

But where does this fear come from?

Whenever children are not sleeping, mothers say “Dekho JINN aa raha hai” or “JINN BABA jaldi say a jao yeh so nahi raha”. This sets a very firm fear in the soft hearts of children and they begin to fear.

There are so small things that are not thought but make a great impact on children.

I am talking about a religion that you follow, and a Holy book you believe in.

There have been many cases of people hearing voices and seeing moving objects. A lot of other things too, which can only be explained by the existence of jinns.

No one denies the existence of Jinns. Hindus call them bhoot, Christians call them demons.

Yusha, I suggest that you don’t take refuge behind religion whenever you can’t discuss anything logically.

I suggest you read the translation of the Quran if you don’t believe in Jinns.

In 1983 I lived alone for a few weeks. A 30-year old man who was working for me asked me if I wasn’t afraid at night, being alone in the house. “Afraid of what?” I asked him. “Jinns and fairies and ghosts, and such things,” he answered. I told him there are no such things and so far science does not have any evidence which could prove their existence. These things exist only in the minds of illiterate people.

Very good issue raised. The question is, if adults were made to believe that a jinn would come if they didn’t sleep, how much sleep would they be able to get. It is cruel to put this kind of fear into the minds of little children.
