Ok, let me confess that I added the word ‘The Best’ in the title of post, just to compel you to read the post. Then on second thoughts I think that even the name of the former chief minister of Sindh would be sufficed to entice you.
In a recent interview, which was taken by a free journalists who later confessed that he didn’t have anything else to do so he opted to interview the Doctor Arbab, the CM said that his tenure was the best ever seen by the Sindh, and he often contacted by the people from NWFP, Balochistan, Punjab and even from Azad Kashmir to come and also rule there or at least give out some tips to their rulers.
Doctor Arbab Ghulam Rahim was the best thing ever happened to Sindh is to be best judged by the Sindh Residents and especially the Karachiites, but he really was famous or notorious for that matter throughout Pakistan. His special style of delivering incomprehensible and meaningless speeches, his attire, his approach towards the crisis and crunch situation, his lack of inactivity, his obsequiousness to the MQM, and his almost weeping denial of having anything to do with the suicide attacks in Benazir’s welcome procession were the hallmarks of his duration in the Sindh House.
Along with Dr. Sher Afgun Khan Niazi, Wasi Zafar, Mohammad Ali Durrani and Fazl-ur-Rehman, Doctor Arbab Ghulam Rahim was the favorite guest of the talk shows, discussion forums, and comical shows by the private TV channels. They literally thrived on the follies uttered by the then chief minister, and I wonder as what would be talk shows and discussion shows like after the departure of these clowns? I do reckon that government needed not to impose emergency to ban the media, it could easily puncture the media and sway people away from their lure by just banning its minister to participate in the programs by those ‘rogue’ private TV channels like GEO, ARYONEWORLD AND AAJ.
Sherry Rehman, the beautiful has eclipsed her prettiness by saying that Dr. Arbab was like an evil resident in the CM house, and it was a good riddance. Now that’s unfair. I have always seen Dr. Arbab bestowing a special and kind smile over the ladies, and he was all honey for the sweetest ladies. He must be very hurt by hearing those remarks. But he shouldn’t be worrying much as Naheed Khan still thinks very highly of him.
