Elections are now just around the corner, and it seems that after all they might happen actually in amidst the cold winds, bird flu, and oh yes the suicide attacks. I am all for an elected assembly in which elected members would foster a healthy discussion and these elected parliamentarians would be paragon of open-mindedness, pragmatism, and collaboration not to forget the tolerance.
For the survival and welfare of our side of planet, these elections are crucial and if anything goes wrong with them and the whole place is likely to blow up in flames. President Generalissimo (retd) knows that and perhaps that is why he is so reluctant to hold them, as he knows that his party, the PML-Quisling is all set to rig the elections, as they are drawing more hatred in the voters than the suicide bombers.
I bet that if any a given constituency (lets say even Gujrat Sharif), if the voters have to choose from either the head honcho Chaudhary Shujaat or a suicide bomber who already declared that after the result of elections he would blow himself up, people would vote for the bomber, just for the hell of it. Because people know that whatever they do or say, Shujaat will prevail.
