Pakistan’s pride and the irrefutable hero of Pakistan, Dr. A. Q. Khan, the founding father of the nuclear program of Pakistan is being thrashed and being cooked pretty severely at all levels deserves better.
He may have done worst of things doing nuclear proliferation, and he may have accomplished some financial lapses, and he may have used abusive and angry language against the Pervez Musharraf, some other high-ups and some of the institutes, but then he has suffered a lot and he needs compassion and needs reassurance from the nation and the authorities.
In his suffering and in his frustration, he has committed blunders and now he needs to be controlled but with passion and with utmost care. Media should also remain very cautious and they need to keep the national interest in their perspective.
Government should have a word with Dr. Qadeer through interlocutors and they must resolve this issue as soon as possible.
I have recently come across this web-site and I love it especially when discussing issues of KESC and Karachi etc.
If there is such a thing as permanent membership of Chowrangi.com I am willing to apply.
Yes, Dr Qadeer Khan made a statement and then it was said that the media had distorted his statement. I have great respect for Dr Qdaeer Khan but he has not been given a fair deal from Pervez Musharraf and deserves better. It is regretful that he made an unnecessary statement about nukes-for-missiles to North Korea ( just like Benazir Bhutto used to boast whilst in exile) and then said that Pervez Musharraf had already mentioned it in his book “In the line of Fire”.
I have no particular liking of the way General Pervez Musharraf treats respected national figures like Iftikhar Chaudhry and Qadeer Khan but Dr Qadeer Khan should know that he must watch his words for his own security and that of Pakistan.
