The reports are that the tension between Pakistan and India is once again rising and Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir met Indian High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal at the Foreign Office and both were highly aggressive with each other and the Indian counterpart threatened with grave consequences, to which Pakistani official retorted fitfully.
Just as the British and American envoys are trying to ease the tension, the Indians are trying to steal the world attention from Gaza and to have their own way. Both India and Pakistan came to the verge of war and then went back and now once again they are teetering on the brink. The sane and dove people on both sides are ill at ease with this juggernaut.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband is also confused and has urged Pakistan to go “farther and faster†while prosecuting and punishing people involved in the Mumbai attacks and to ensure that the terrorist infrastructure was uprooted. Then he also asked India to play it cool, but India instead told him to mind his own business.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kaynai and both affirmed that Pakistan was doing way beyond expectations regarding the war on terror and need every kind of help to root out this menace and this time India should help rather than erecting obstacles.
