According to the media reports, Minister of Finance, Revenues, Economic Affairs and Privatization, Syed Naveed Qamar has said massive aid given to Pakistan in the war on terror will be subjected to an audit.
Now that’s more like it. In the era of President General (r) Pervez Musharraf, billions upon billions of dollars were received by the then administration as a salary/gift/whatever for fighting the US war on terror. This war was not only fought in the FATA area but was also fought in the form of suicide bombings and the bomb blasts in the Pakistani cities of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Kohat, Peshawar, Quetta and host of others.
Due to this war on terror, every Pakistani feels insecure and the society’s morale has plummeted to the lowest degree. Nobody feels safe and the things are quite gloomy and alarming by and large. Pervez Musharraf, despite of the continued hatred against his policies, continued to wage the war on terror and received massive greenbacks from the US.
Pakistanis always wanted to know the price upon which they were sold, and now this announcement is very welcome.
