After spending billions of dollars on research, spying, analysis, think tanks, thesis, papers, brain storming, discussion and pondering, Wes has reached upon the conclusion that the root of all the “evil” of terrorism lies in the Madaris of Pakistan. According to their “ground-breaking” findings, these religious seminaries or Madaris are churning out terrorists like American arms industries are producing weapons. They would have given me some million dollars, and I would have saved them from spending so much and also from lots of efforts through just a single blog post.
There are some 13 thousands bigger Madaris in Pakistan, and if you include small and medium size Madaris, then the number reaches to some one hundred thousand. Annually, almost 1 million students leave these Madaris after completing their studies. Now for West, these one million students are not one million terrorists. They don’t know a thing about the modern technologies, and even don’t know the heck about modern warfare. They can only flail a wooden stick in some acrobatic funny fashion. They are getting out of religious schools with virtually no skill in hand, and they are unable to get some decent job in any company.
There are surely some religious schools in the tribal areas, where there is a concept of teaching students the use of weapons, but then in the tribal region, it is common to display and use weapons publicly. Its their culture, and that has been so for centuries. There are some religious schools, which do prepare their students for a fight, because they believe that US is an aggressor, and those religious schools, which are very rare and have almost vanished have popped up in retaliation. When they see that NATO forces are bombing their homes without any reason, and when they know that their no Al-Qaeda or Osama-bin-Laden hiding in their area, and yet US is doing carpet bombing and showering daisy cutters and other lethal bombs, they start reacting.
West should also see it in a global scenario. Wherever, in the world, whenever Muslim start any fight for their right, West always takes side with the opponents of Muslims. Whether it is Chechnya, or it is Bosnia, or it is Kashmir, or it is Palestine, or East Timor or Sudan, West always criticizes Muslims and facilitate their the other party. The biggest reason of hatred and resentment against America in the Muslim world is the useless Iraq war, which is totally based on lies and intrigue. In the name of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), US has killed two hundred thousands Iraqis, has captured the oil wells, and is about to break the Iraq in three pieces.
So its not only about the Madaris, its about every Muslim, who doesn’t like the dual standards of West. As far as the religious schools are concerned, it is imperative that along with the religious studies, modern education should also be rendered. A student who majors in religion should also have a thorough knowledge of other contemporary disciplines of his choice like engineering, medical, information technology, marketing, business, etc. It’s not because, West is exerting pressure, but because its the need of time.
