Now India is trying to prop up its weakened case and wants to turn world loose on Pakistan. Indian minister for external affairs, Pranab Mukherjee is aimlessly shooting at the Pakistan and without any evidence and proof he is demanding action from the Pakistani side, while threatening.
Notwithstanding, Pakistan government’s unprecedented peace initiative with India, coupled with confidence building measures, at no cost Pakistan cannot afford to be complacent and must maintain a high state of operational preparedness as only maintenance of a credible deterrence guarantees peace.
The current security environment in the region has posed new challenges for Pakistan. On numerous occasions on disparate forums, Pakistan has reiterated its resolve for peace, reconciliation, political stability, economic prosperity and welfare of the nation. Pakistan wants democracy and peace and they want to progress. The Pakistani nation showed amazing resilience and commitment to democracy and they want to live in peace.
For the last three decades, Pakistan has been battling with terrorism that is a major challenge to regional as well as international peace. We cannot allow non-state actors to influence the functions of our state or our relations with other countries, but we cannot let India push us around and let US dictate us.
The UN had declared 2009 as the International Year for Reconciliation. What a joke.
