Presidential Campaigns Pick Momentum

With the three major players vying for the top slot for the presidential campaign in Pakistan, there also have mushroomed many small time media-flash light seekers going boomerang for the lofty job of president and they are full of haywire for this job and some of them even are giving interviews to the media prophesizing their imminent victory.

While that happens on the fringes just for the fun mainly, the real battle goes on between Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N’s presidential candidate Justice (Retd.) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqu. Justice Siddiqui is also becoming very active and he thinks that he stands a very serious chance for becoming the next president of Pakistan. Election Commission has accepted the nomination papers of the presidential candidates Asif Ali Zardari (PPP), Justice Saeeduzzaman Siddiqu (PML-N) and Mushahid Hussain Sayed (PML-Q).

Zardari’s position is very strong because he enjoys the support of majority of the parliamentarians and the other invisible hands and establishment has also agreed to give the chap a chance but Zardari is fearful of the Pakistan Muslim League-N’s presidential candidate Justice (Retd.) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqu.

PPP leaders in Islamabad are trying very hard to get Zardari elected unopposed, but that seems more difficult as on the other fronts PPP is locking its horns with PML-N.
