PML-N’s Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui and PML-Q’s Mushahid Hussain Syed are the minnows in front of PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari, when it comes to contesting this elections, and as the voting is underway in all the elements of electoral college, the victory of Asif Ali Zardari seems imminent.
Though the leaders of Pakistan People’s Party are claiming various bigger figures and are assuring that their candidate would get more than five hundreds votes from all the assemblies, the safe and fair bet is that the co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari will get more than 400 votes. He is likely to secure the maximum percentage of votes from the Balochistan Assembly to be followed by Sindh, the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and the Punjab. His position is better in the National Assembly than the Senate, and that is for sure drawing no ambiguity.
Behind the scene horse trading is going on and though All the three presidential candidates – Asif Zardari, Justice (retd) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui and Mushahid Hussain Syed didn’t character assassinated each other, their party cronies did try to buy the loyalties of each other and especially PPP tried their best to malign the personality of PML-N’s candidate, ustice (retd) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui.
