Petition against Pak Suzuki Motor Company

Pak Suzuki Motor has been spewing out vehicles in Pakistan for almost 25 years now. This post speaks out on the behalf of those people who are the victim of low quality production and highly un-user friendly approach of this plant.

The end-product a customer gets from this plant after a painfully lengthy period is simple a heap of bland garbage. For instance I recently got my Mehran Suzuki Car from a local dealer in Rawalpindi almost 2 months ago and still hasn’t been able to experience the smooth functioning of vehicle. There were many manufacturing faults in it from the outset. Major manufacturing faults were faulty hand brake, loose doors, substandard rubbers, dried up bushes, ill-fitted window glasses. The Rs. 350000+ vehicle hadn’t even got simple cheap things like mud flaps, seat covers, and other small things. Automobile mechanics themselves advice that one has to replace many parts of a new vehicle in order to get some sort of relief.

This state of affair is absolutely unacceptable. If you share the pain, frustration and humiliation, then please join hands to protest against this high-handedness of Pak Suzuki Motors Company by signing the following petition:

Come on Guys, I am going to buy my first car pretty soon ( Suzuki Mehran probably) so don’t discourage me.

If that is the case how can Suuzuki being highest sold cars in Pakistan, it isn’t a 1000 Rs item it cost a damn good money and I don’t think people are so dumb to spend such amount of money on crap cars.

Yes these cars are not as good as some other but they are also cheap. Mehran is 450000 approx. and there is not other car at such price or anything near. With low price you should expect a little drop in quality, right?

    Dear Shahzeb,

I don’t need to pretend…The product speaks for itself!! Please check the Spring Field Research Journals for “Most Preferred Car Brand” in Pakistan for 2009.

You will know for your self!

If you have problems with Suzuki..you are free to purchase any of the existing brands out there.

    Regards,

    Wahab Khan

The Swift is about to replaced by a newer generation (shape/engine) globally this year.

Mehran has been phased out globally since the late 1980s. It continues to be used in India but with EFI and more features. The only thing common with Maruti 800 is the shape.

Same is the case with Bolan, Ravi, Cultus, and Alto. All are obsolete vehicles no longer made anywhere for several years.

Hence only two Paksuzuki vehicles Jimny and APV are going on par with the rest of the world. They are imported and very expensive. Jimny now costs almost 19lakhs.

I think this Wahab Khan person is not actually someone from Paksuzuki, he is more likely to be someone pretending to be in the company.

    Bye Everyone
    God Bless Pakistan !

    @Wahab
Swift car was not launched simultaneously all over the world. It was launched in japan and India in 2005 and in Europe in 2006.It was launched in pakistan 4 years later!

The maruti 800 car that is sold in india costs at least 20% less than the one sold in pakistan.Plus,it has advanced techonlogies like fuel injuction system. So deduct another 5% from the price. Moreover mehran is no way near the quality of maruti 800.

After reading the comments of other people, I can relate to them how PakSuzuki is taking unfair advantage of its monopoly position in the small car market. I myself have been a victim of poor quality and obsolete technology of paksuzuki cars. Unfortunately due to lobbying and bribes by Pakistani automakers (esp paksuzuki) government never takes any step to reduce the suffering of people.
It so sad to see that we are getting cars with technology no longer used in any other country at such high prices.

Mr. Wahab Khan I would request you to show some decency after reading feedback of so many people and take your obsessive love of an exploiting Japanese company elsewhere. Nobody is satisfied with Paksuzuki cars, people are forced to buy them because they have no other option thanks to the policies of our useless governemtn!!

“PAKSUZUKI IS THE ONLY AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY IN THE WORLD WHICH STILL PRODUCES “CARBURETOR” BASED CARDS.

Cultus is out of production everywhere in the world expecpt Pakistan. (yes, even african countries)

Liana is sold in Pakistan only.(all other countries moved to SX4 several years back, including India and African countries.)

The pakistani ALTO uses a early 1980s engine not used anywhere else in the world. Sj410

The Bolan/Ravi cars are based on late 1970s platform. (suzuki carry / bedford rascal)

Lets all pray to God that PakSuzuki’s monopoly will end in the future, and we will have a competitive auto industry.”

Thanks for pointing all that out Mohsin. Good research indeed. Pakistan always gets the worst of all deals. Its not just the auto industry but the whole country is like that. You cannot find any good quality things in Pakistan.

    Dear Wahab Bhai,

The main reason why only PakSuzuki vehicles are seen in the country are because of one simple thing that “There are no other options”, especially if we talk about small cars.

What importance are awards in a country where the auto industry has no competition. This is like ending in the top 3 in a race where there are only three players 🙂 hehehe.

If you are genuinely concerned about Pakistan, than why don’t you take this message to Paksuzuki head to produce safe and environment friendly engines. As some previous posters pointed out, Why does your company use obsolete engines which have “DANGEROUS EMISSION” levels and are no longer legal in other countries. At least you guys can move to electronic fuel injection systems which are now even adopted by African countries.

I seriously request you to please consider public safety and the environment also.

And brother, the criticism of people in this regard is totally justified. Can we expect people to be happy when they pay so much money and get nothing but cars which lack even the most basic features and use technology that has been discarded by the rest of the world.

Its time we stop justifying our shortcomings and learn from other auto industries around the world, such as India, Thailand and Vietnam. Who were behind us but now have surpassed.

Brother I request your company to please convert Mehran and Alto to Efi atleast.

    Kind Regards,
    Dr. Atif
