Petition against Pak Suzuki Motor Company

Pak Suzuki Motor has been spewing out vehicles in Pakistan for almost 25 years now. This post speaks out on the behalf of those people who are the victim of low quality production and highly un-user friendly approach of this plant.

The end-product a customer gets from this plant after a painfully lengthy period is simple a heap of bland garbage. For instance I recently got my Mehran Suzuki Car from a local dealer in Rawalpindi almost 2 months ago and still hasn’t been able to experience the smooth functioning of vehicle. There were many manufacturing faults in it from the outset. Major manufacturing faults were faulty hand brake, loose doors, substandard rubbers, dried up bushes, ill-fitted window glasses. The Rs. 350000+ vehicle hadn’t even got simple cheap things like mud flaps, seat covers, and other small things. Automobile mechanics themselves advice that one has to replace many parts of a new vehicle in order to get some sort of relief.

This state of affair is absolutely unacceptable. If you share the pain, frustration and humiliation, then please join hands to protest against this high-handedness of Pak Suzuki Motors Company by signing the following petition:

Well, despite the claims of 100% Pakistani car, the fact is that Revo mostly had Chinese parts (including the engine). Mr. Feroz Khan, owner of Adam Motors, became famous by producing parts of Honda and other automobile companies in Pakistan. He should be credited for producing Shehzore trucks, used by NLC, Army and other public and private sector organizations. However, his idea of a Pakistani car did not worked. People cite many factors including ego issues on part of Mr. Khan as well as lack of support by the govt.

The closure of Revo caused hundreds to loose their hard earned money who believed in the hype and invested in a product that was still in “beta” when launched publicly.

you have got to be joking me.

100% closed? What happened to the factory? All the worker just lost their jobs?

I would never have expected it to be an export oriented car due to competition and other variables, but this easily could have been a great venture for local market.

That is disgraceful. People are to blame to. They chose Hyundai Santos (ugly disaster) and Mehran but they fail to give a chance to local made cars.

All industry is suffering because of neglect. Look at the load-shedding!

@Ayub: Revo is dead, thanks to no support from Government and Private sector. They have officially closed product in 2008.

can someone please tell me what is the status or REVO? Are there any production?

I remember in 2005-2006 during happier days when the only news from Pakistan was good news — that my eyes lit up with joy reading about Pakistani indigenous efforts (okay fine, i know the engines were Chinese and ToT good) but it was damn good start

We have such a class conscious society. Those who (Mashallah) did well and used to have an Alto now drive Corolla. He who once had a Corolla ”graduated” to ”higher” level and bought a Pajero or a Land Cruiser.

He who had an old smokey Yamaha 100 Royale now had Hyundai Santos (ugly car by the way).

Whereas indians will keep the same care for 20-30 years, and keep only 3-4 pairs of clothes. They have a good sense of savings which we dont have.

Anyways –i could go on and on talking. But lets just hope for the best. We have been a capitalist society since 1947, while a good number of our neighbours still have that socialist mentality.

My best wishes to Pakistani cars industry. My best wishes to Pakistan and to all my Pakistani citizens. Work hard, jeetay rahon!!

well we have had examples of countries which have progressed just because they isolated thier automobile industry by making it illegal to import any vehicles under any circumstances .. they only did it until their own industry actualy started owning the foriegn companys!! whereas Pak Suzuki mainly had a Pakistan based management and labour work force when it first started just lyk Suzuki Udyog is now a days but now Pak Suzuki is under Japanese management .. !?!? if I keep on talking about this irony this comment will become a very lengthy one .. to summarize it I would say its ironic that that Pakistanis criticised Revo when their neighbours who claim to be upto date and modern have been driving cars resembling Beetle (foxy) until recently which was well below the genral standard in pakistan and rest of the world … but to support thier own inferior car industry they compromised and this mature act by Indian nation and govt is well desrveley paying them back … I so hope that Pakistan doesn ban the import of vehicles completely rather than leaving loop holes for the rich like the ones there are in current laws because this way we are loosing the major class of community who could suport our indeginous car industry the most. But for this to happen our minsters of state will have to suit to the same comforts as other human beings, in case of our minsters that will alomst certainly cross the line of unfair ness as they are too used to being caged into thier imported luxury sedans and suv’s .. which promotes a culture where those cars are looked at as icons of success and happiness, this gives strong intiavtive to people to import those cars … THIS HABBIT HAS BECOME SORT OF LIKE DRUG ADDICTION which we cant seem to get enough of … in a net shell our country’s and our own bright future demands that we relly on things that we produce to give them trend and hence encoureging exports. But our producers have to spend their profits on betterment of their products so that we can compete in internetional market when we export and also to give a world class or better product to the local customers who are supporting them to flourish… at the same time our govt will have to take very bold, practical and much needed steps to promote this kind of producer – customer cycle and discourage the current foolish import policies. If we do all this right than the only thing which could stop us will be will of Allah; to keep that in our favour we will all Inshallah pray to the Almighty. After that Inshallah Pakistan will become what it was destined to become a successfull peaceloving beloved country of the world it might aswell still have alot of enimies in the world but there will Inshallah be none which could say that out loud or dare to do somthing stupid. May Allah give us strength as a nation to do good. May long live Pakistan where Allah is the supreme.

I hv booked cultus 2008 in the month of july this year thru the authorized dealer of pak suzuki named Mecca motors and its subsidiary World Automobiles (NISSAN Showroom).
I gave cheque in favor of Pak suzuki. Mecca motors submited the amount to the company and the car is issued to some other person NOT me. Now when i am seeking help from the company pak suzuki, they refused to help me in this regard. I request to all victims of this issue to please contact me and we ll take action towards it togather.

Mehran is the only so called Car that have no seat belts, even driving without having seat belts is a crime in all over the world. Pakistan is only one where Suzuki made car that has no standard in Rs.420000/=. It will be the great pleasure if Pak Suzuki adds only necessaries not the accessories.
What about Suzuki hiroof?? who can imagine that except pakistan any car manufacturer could be allowed to make things like Mehran and Hiroof?
