Independence Day will be here very soon. Every year, this day is celebrated with zeal and zest. Patriotic ceremonies are organized, buildings are graciously lighted. Promises are made by the government for the betterment of the country. In short, everyone seems proud and happy for having an independent state.
But I would like to drag the attention of people towards this point that what is independence for a woman who is incarcerated since March 2003 along with her three innocent children. Yes, I am talking about Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. It has been five years to her imprisonment now. No one knew where she disappeared suddenly. But the truth has now been revealed that she was handed over to FBI by our very own government. She has been falsely charged for having alleged links with Al-Qaeda.
How can we trust our government when we know that they are so blatant that they are selling their own daughters?
This year, the true independence of our country will only be then, when Dr. Aafia Siddiqui will be released from American barbarians otherwise independence or no independence, it doesn’t matter anymore.
