Osama Bin Laden, the chief of al-Qaeda and alleged mastermind of 9/11, has been reportedly killed near Islamabad, Pakistan.
US President Barrack Obama confirmed the news in his address to American nation.
Last night (around 1:30am) there were reports of a helicopter crashing in Abbotabad near PMA Kakol but no further details were provided. It is likely that both events could be linked.
Interestingly, morning newspapers reported that as a Pakistan Army helicopter that crashed in an empty plot.
Saleem Safi, senior journalist and analyst, said that a house in residential area of Abbotabad was hit last night. According to his sources, few helicopters landed near the house, one was taken down but later the house was destroyed and the residents of that house, dead or alive, were airlifted by the helicopters.
It is certainly not possible for US forces to enter and perform such operation near Islamabad. This makes the situation more grave.
If Osama Bin Laden is really dead, Pakistan should brace for a terror tsunami that will be unleashed in retaliation.
