In order to better equip our nation’s graduates for their future career the Government of Pakistan has introduced a National Internship Program where fresh unemployed graduates from all over the country will get one year hands-on experience with government organizations nationwide and emerge as an even better human resource for the country’s economy.
All unemployed post graduates and graduates having completed 16 years of formal education in any discipline during the calendar years 2005 and 2006 are eligible for applying. Applicants must have completed education from HEC recognized Universities/Colleges including external candidates and must be 25 years or less of age by 31 December 2006. The internees will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000/- (all-inclusive) during the internship period. After successful completion of one year’s internship, interns will be awarded NIP certificate of experience.

It seems a revolutionary step by the Government of Pakistan. Potential energy of educated youth can be directed to its most effective usage. Underemployment in the form of mismatching can be reduced. Meanwhile, public sector suffering arising from chronic shortage of officials can be avoided.
On other hand, this step is seen as campaign for forthcoming elections. Other serious considerations are arising about the funding of program. This project is expected to be financed by higher inflation and direct and/or indirect taxes. Moreover, sustainability of project is not assured by government.

The news was a pleasant surprise to all the graduates as it brings hopes to the youth of this coutry who are depressed by the unemployment problem in this country and also is a motivation factor for the young guyzz who believe that there is no scope in this country to study to the gradute or post graduate level, i would call it a brave step from this government and if carried out properly and implemented in spirit as it is described in letter will lead to improve the unemployment condition as well as the literacy rate of this country. A sugesstion would be that government should also cordinate and include private sector in this programe that is, the graduates would also be placed in the high ranked private sector institutions because there is major difference in the work environmnet of the public and private sector. The last but not the least thing that i would like to say is, that there should be a proper check on the implementors of this programe and it should be properly taken care of beacuse at one side it surely will be beneficial for the youth but ultimately it is beneficial for the government if they are to be our rulers again, so Mr.PM, you put us ( the post graduates) to the right place, and we will put your “Graduates” to the place where they want to be.. In the end i would like to congratulate the authorities for taking this valuable step and wish them good luck for the success of it. Regardz.

Its warmly wellcoming programme especially in giving revelent skills that s fully feeling a hurdle in getting agood job.But this site is not successfuly opening.

i must say its an important step taken by the gov’t at this time when the job ratio is gona down special in pakistan thats why rain drain is bieng in pakistan.
so it was neccessory step had to taken by the gov’t befor now but its good at now .many ppl can get atleast experince who reject on jobs only for not having any sufficiant experince in any field.
its a great effort from gov,t side.we need to appriciat it but still the conditions are not in reach of some students.we r trying to apply it from three days but the page is not opening ,plz tell us what,s the problem.
National intern ship programme is a brave effort of pakistan government to decrease the unemployment in educated persons.but the web site is not responding(www.nip.gov.pk),so a great difficulty in registeration.
