If ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was the most anticipated movie of the year, it certainly wasn’t the best. At least not the best among the Batman sequels. Not to mention the unnecessary long running time, which failed to hold my interest unlike the first two parts.
The villian, Bane, seems to be dull character, which neither interests like Ra’s al Ghul, nor excites like the Joker. Also, the character of Catwoman is wasted, as she has little to do in the movie. Why was the character in the movie? Just as a tool to create interest among fans before the release of the movie, and nothing more?
In the movie, why were we not told where the prison was? And how does Batman get back to Gotham city so quickly after escaping? Also, how does Batman get onto the island if no one is allowed on it, and why doesn’t he fall through the ice? And although not relevant to this particular sequel only, why does Batman’s voice become heavy when he wears a mask?
While ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ were attention grabbing, had interesting storylines, and flowed effortlessly, it seems as though ‘The Dark Knight Rises is forced through.
The movie fails to meet expectations.
