Birthday of respectable Miss Fatima Jinnah was celebrated with full fervor and traditional zeal and zest on 31st July across the country and in the world where Pakistanis live. History will write the name of sister of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and a salient leader of independence movement with golden words.
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was the youngest sister of Quaid-e-Azam and she was a dental surgeon by profession, but she dedicated her whole life for the service of his great brother and accompained him in the whole independence movement. Once Quaid said,”My sister and my typewriter were my most treasured companions during the movement for the freedom of Pakistan.”
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was literally and practically acted as an advisor and manager to her brother and she made sure that billions of Muslims of Indo-pak get the maximum attention of her brother, and she extracted value from every second of the time. She knew the value of time, and she knew the magnitude of effort her brother was injecting in.
The aim of her life was the creation of Pakistan. After the completion of her aim, she dedicated herself for the construction of the newly born state. She stood with his brother shoulder to shoulder and started solving the unlimited number of problems faced by the country. She managed the migration of billions of people with dexterity and tolerance. She took it to her, and looked after the injured and plundered people who were coming through the wall of blood. She tried her best to render food, medicine, tents and other things to the people in the migration camps.
She never took interest in the bloody and greedy race of ruling the country. She always said and acted what her brother professed. She always wanted to see Pakistan on the way, her brother envisioned. She always fought with the rulers, who only saw their vested interests.
When in 1964 Ayub Khan rolled back the democracy and implemented Marshal Law, it was Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah who stood against him and his tyranny and though she lost the election due to a shameless engineered elections, she won the hearts of billions of Pakistanis.
Our beloved mother is not only an unprecedented example for the ladies, but also for the gents of this country. My heart weeps when I try to recall what she would have thought after she was insulted by Ayub Khan. She, who was the sister of our Quaid, was ridiculted by a worthless tyrant. What a pity. But her sacrifice would very soon become fruitful.
