Love Pakistan or Leave Pakistan – Celebrating Pakistan Independence Day

love pakistan independence day

Why people celebrate Birthdays? While I am not personally into such celebrations, Birthdays, in my opinion, present us with an opportunity to thank God for allowing us another year of life and to ask for His blessings for the days to come.

Independence Day is the day when a country or a nation came into being. For us 14th August is the day when we were liberated from the British Raj. The idea of Pakistan’s independence was to get a country where Muslims can live as a nation and would have liberty to perform their religious, social and cultural activities.

Pakistan’s birth was not accidental. It is only country on current world map that was born to be a place for a Muslim state, on the basis of La Ilaha Ill Allah. Ideology of Pakistan was not based on geography alone, or on ethnicity or on caste or creed. In fact, Pakistan is second place after Yathrib where a Muslim state is formed.

While the idea was brilliant and its executors dedicated, things started to take another direction right after birth of Pakistan. Since demise of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, one after another fortune seeker and power hungry tyrant, either in civil dress or uniform, took over the reins. The constitution, media, bureaucracy, judiciary and law enforcement agencies were exploited to accomplish personal goals and vendettas. Sixty years down the line, we are still wondering where to go and many of us argue whether the decision for an independent country was right in the first place.

As 14th August is approaching, people of Pakistan are getting ready for another celebration. However, this year is not same as the previous years. Approaching to its 60th independence day, Pakistan is facing more crisis than it has faced since its birth to date. We have a tyrant for ruler, rumored to declare emergency. Nation is distressed by bloodshed in Karachi, Judicial Crisis, Lal Masjid Massacre and rapidly deteriorating situation in the Northern Areas. The enemies of Pakistan are massing around us, attacking through the media, defaming our mosques and madaris, expanding rifts between institutions and have their eyes on our nuclear assets and our sovergnity.

We need to have consensus that We do love Pakistan, and we need Pakistan more than Pakistan needs us. We should remember that freedom is one of the best and most precious blessings of Allah (swt) and nations who do not appreciate it, remain only in the pages of history books. Also, if we love Pakistan we should prove it by loving our countrymen just as we love our families.

I believe we are at crossroads now and next few months are going to be decisive for us as a nation. This is the time we strengthen our bond with our country and stand upright in front of its enemies. We, as bloggers, have got global reach and we should use this power to spread the message of unity as well as to resist those who try to defame Pakistan.

On this independence day, celebrate with two rakahs of nawafil and thank Allah (swt) for His blessings, beg for His mercy and pray that we get honest and committed leaders.

For those who still have doubts, Love Pakistan or Leave Pakistan.

    You must be kidding me?

Where in the hell did this hindustany walla come from????

Worst country to live in? You should go on Dawn Blog and read about all the foreigners who come here and leave with smiles and pride at having lived here. We are world famous for our hospitality.

The same way we are famous for being ruthless with our enemies. Just ask the old farts at Pathankot Airbase in hindustan (who were humiliated by 19th Squadron PAF), or the aging retired indian soldiers who were doomed during the battle of Chawinda (those are mere examples)

Why should we get out of a country that we adore and love so much? One that has so much potential (realized and unrealized?). Even at times when we have hit rock bottom, people are still smiling and going about with their daily lives. So immature comments from indians like yourselves leave us ever so perplexed, as to how some of you people can be so obtuse.

We do have Pakistanis who leave the country to work overseas, and their remittance payments are a symbol of their honour and commitment to this great nation.

(a bit more than I can say about the Sikh Khalestanys who escaped india after Operation Bluestar genocide…….the Christians in Orissa/West Bengal who are still being slaughtered just because they gave religious advice and guidance to a few “low-caste” dalits……and the victims of Gujrat state-sponsored genocide)

Pakistanis are still much better off than the average indian, and for that – we are certain. It appears that Muslims (celebritys at that!) cannot even buy property in certain areas of your beloved “mumbai”……It also appears that the average indian doesnt even have access to running water or even piped gas. Go figure.

    Pakistan Zindabad!!

Hend, you are an Indian, so don’t say that our people are the worst…Don’t pretend to be a Pakistani when you are not.

I do not agree. Pakistan is probably the worst country to live in and our people are the worst in terms of oppressing it. This country has zero future. Get out while you still can.

Why should we leave Pakistan?? A land where I was born, my parents live, the joys of my childhood float….and as someone said …jahan meri naal gari hai….

And the Pakistani Boss of my company said

..Go abroad, but you will miss Pakistan, if not in life, but sure you would at time you would be dying….having a place in such a land is an honor…

Hey I love Pakistan too but I left the country for work. A lot of expatriate Pakistanis still love Pakistan and wish to contribute to its welfare.

@Farhad: Internet is very powerful medium and we have to use it to spread the message of unity, faith and discipline. People around us are full of frustrations and pessimism. We have to be positive and ask others to forsake their differences for their country.

Mr kashif Aziz Salamoalaikum, i loved the way u wrote that article. It has a sense of desperation of being in love with Pakistan. You raised some beautiful points for the reasons this nation came into being alongside Yasrab. I wish and pray we could stand up as proud pakistanis under the umbrella of Allah(swt) and His final messenger muhammad (pbuh), regardless of cast, creed and color.
Its really a blessing for us to have Pakistan where we can practice our muslim values at ease in comparison to the westernized islamic nations like turkey for instance there are many more. They hardly enjoy the spiritual guidance provided by Islam while most of us are still in the process of being westernized and leaving Allah(swt). Iman is undergoing a weakening state we should get up and work hard for being as close to our creator, that will eventually help in keeping the sovereignity of this nation.
I agree with the idea of birthdays it shud be celebrated in a way Allah(swt) told us to do, the more we party the more we fade away from the right path.
musik is not food of soul zikr of Allahis the food of our souls. So lets strive to build a stronger relationship with Allah(swt) which wud succeed Pakistanis in this life n the hereafter.
