Justified Long March

The Long March by the lawyers, the activists of the civil society and the other members of the society is aptly and justly for the reinstatement of the judiciary and for the upper hand of the law and constitution. Pakistan People Party, though on rhetoric supports such notion, but in essence it wants to defeat the long march.

The evil and preposterous constitutional package proposed by the Pakistan People’s Party is aimed at defeating the lawyers and their cause, and its the open insult to their coalition partner PML-N, whose one point agenda is the reinstatement of the judiciary, which directly translates into the ouster of Pervez Musharraf.

In their nefarious and wicket constitutional package, there is a clause which says:

“270CC Restoration of the Supreme Court judges: Notwithstanding anything contained in the Constitution, the Oath of Office (Judges) Order, 2007, the High Court Judges (Pensionary Benefits) Order, 2007 (PO No 8 of 2007), the Supreme Court Judges (Pensionary Benefits) Order, 2007, (PO No 9 of 2007) and any other law for the time being in force or judgment of any court including a high court and the Supreme Court, the judges of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Chief Justices of high courts, who had ceased to continue to hold office in pursuance of the Oath of Office (Judges) Order, 2007, shall stand reinstated/restored to the position and seniority they were holding on the 2nd day of November, 2007.”

This clause clearly states that PPP like Pervez Musharraf doesnt want to reinstate the Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary, and therefor the Long March to pressurize the parliament is just and apt.
