Hariri Sends Hezbollah “Packing”

In what has been termed as one of the most important development in the geostrategic environment of Middle East, the Western and Saudi backed Saad Hariri‘s coalition has defeated the hard line coalition of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Hezbollah has gained major breakthrough after it fought it way to glory against Israel in 2006, but it seems that the dream run for Mr Hassan Nasrullah and his followers have ended for the time being. Though the results are still vague, it is clear that Saad, son of slain ex PM Rafiq Hariri has got the outcome they wanted.

It will be a major boost not only for the Israelis, but for Obama as well in his urge to settle the Palestinian dispute, that he tabled during his recent speech at Cairo. The implication for the Iranian backed Hezbollah is still hard to state, but it seems that they have found it difficult when it came to merge religion with regional politics.

The next few weeks will be crucial for the whole region, as Hezbollah is a key player lately.
