The sky-rocketing prices of oil and CNG has given the biggest blow to the nation in the first very enriching and legendary hundred days of the Pakistan People’s Party government, and people have even forgotten their promise of roti, kapra aur makan, and while Salman Taseer and the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani are continuously working round the clock to win the province of Punjab, people are whining due to the hardships of the life.
The crippling increase in the prices in the common man’s fuel CNG is very cruel. The government has said it was compelled to make the raise due to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Ordinance 2002 and agreements signed with gas utilities as a reason. It has also said a Rs35 billion gas subsidy for gas users will continue, but the thing is that government has done virtually nothing to alleviate the hardships of the people.
Instead of rendering relief to the people, government is only reminding us of the follies committed by the previous regime of Pervez Musharraf’s eye by Shaukat Aziz, and they also give gem of an advice to the nation, that they should show restrain and ready for the sacrifice, while Gillani prepares for the trip to the Washington and Zardari enjoys the NRO in Turkey.
Then they ask innocently as why people are committing suicides?
