Cheeta-Meharats: Indians that are Hindus as well as Muslims!

Here’s something very interesting from across the border (and I’m not referring to their semi-naked, near-nude actresses): there’s a community in India whose members are Muslims as well as Hindus. They’re known as the Cheeta-Meharats, and are mostly settled in Ajmer, Pali, Raj Samand, Bhilwara and Udaipur (I believe this area was known as C.P. once). Their population is a million and a half, and about 70 percent live below the poverty line (an improvement over the rest of India, where about eighty percent are perpetually hungry).

So what’s so interesting about them? Well, it seems they follow both the Islamic and Hindu ways of praying. They pray in mosques (like Muslims do) and t hey also pray in Hindu temples. They celebrate Eid and Diwaali, and they probably drink cow piss as well. There are just three rituals of Islam that the Cheeta-Meharats have to compulsorily follow – sunnat (circumcision), dafan (burial) and eating halal meat. They have traditional Hindu weddings (making seven rounds around the sacred fire), as well as marrying in the Islamic manner (“nikah”).

Both Muslims and Hindus have tried to convert the community to their religions, but without success. No one knows why, how or when they started following both religions, but their population indicates that they’ve been like this for at least two hundred years or so.

  1. There are many other community in India who are doing rituals of Muslim and Hindus both like Rajput Musalman of UP, Kayamkhani of Rajsthan, Mev of Haryana and Khojas of Gujrat. They respect Islam as well as their old traditions. They don’t eat Beef and pork both.

“There may have been isolated incidents in which people like the Taliban indulged in destroying temples but the vast majority of Muslim rulers were benevolent.”

Looks like no one is appreciating the kindness and benevolence bestoved by the Muslim rulers.

Here are some examples with references.

The Muslim conquest of the Indian subcontinent led to widespread carnage because Muslims regarded the Hindus as infidels and therefore slaughtered and converted millions of Hindus.
Reference: Will Durant 1935 from book “The Story of Civilization

“The Mohammedan conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. The Islamic historians and scholars have recorded with great glee and pride the slaughters of Hindus, forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave markets and the destruction of temples carried out by the warriors of Islam during 800 AD to 1700 AD. Millions of Hindus were converted to Islam by sword during this period.”

Check with your great great great grandpa, may be he was among them.

Mahmud of Ghazni sacked the second Somnath Temple in 1026, and looted it of gems and precious stones and the famous Shiva lingam of the temple was destroyed .Later the temple was demolished by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1706.

In a short space of time all the people in the [Delhi] fort were put to the sword, and in the course of one hour the heads of 10,000 infidels were cut off. The sword of Islam was washed in the blood of the infidels, and all the goods and effects, the treasure and the grain which for many a long year had been stored in the fort became the spoil of my soldiers. They set fire to the houses and reduced them to ashes, and they razed the buildings and the fort to the ground….All these infidel Hindus were slain, their women and children, and their property and goods became the spoil of the victors. I proclaimed throughout the camp that every man who had infidel prisoners should put them to death, and whoever neglected to do so should himself be executed and his property given to the informer. When this order became known to the ghazis of Islam, they drew their swords and put their prisoners to death.

One hundred thousand infidels, impious idolators, were on that day slain. Maulana Nasiruddin Umar, a counselor and man of learning, who, in all his life, had never killed a sparrow, now, in execution of my order, slew with his sword fifteen idolatrous Hindus, who were his captives….on the great day of battle these 100,000 prisoners could not be left with the baggage, and that it would be entirely opposed to the rules of war to set these idolaters and enemies of Islam at liberty…no other course remained but that of making them all food for the sword.

Historical records compiled by Muslim historian Maulana Hakim Saiyid Abdul Hai attest to the iconoclasm of Qutb-ud-din Aybak. The first mosque built in Delhi, the “Quwwat al-Islam” was built after the demolition of the Hindu temple built previously by Prithvi Raj and certain parts of the temple were left outside the mosque proper. This pattern of iconoclasm was common during his reign.

Sultãn Sikandar Butshikan of Kashmir (AD 1389-1413) is often considered the worst of these. Historians have recorded many of his atrocities. The Tarikh-i-Firishta records that Sikandar persecuted the Hindus and issued orders proscribing the residency of any other than Muslims in Kashmir. He also ordered the breaking of all “golden and silver images”.

When Muhammad Kasim invaded Sind in 711 AD, Buddhism had no resistance to offer. The rosary could not be a match for the sword and the terms Love and Peace had no meaning to them. They carried fire and sword wherever they went and obliterated all that came their way. Muhammad triumphantly marched into the country, conquering Debal, Sehwan, Nerun, Brahmanadabad, Alor and Multan one after the other in quick succession, and in less than a year and a half, the far-flung Hindu kingdom was crushed, the great civilization fell back and Sind entered the darkest period of its history. There was a fearful outbreak of religious bigotry in several places and temples were wantonly desecrated. At Debal, the Nairun and Aror temples were demolished and converted into mosques.[Resistors] were put to death and women made captives. The Jizya was exacted with special care.[Hindus] were required to feed Muslim travellers for three days and three nights.

The great God says in the Koran [47.4]: “0 True believers, when you encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads.” The above command of the Great God is a great command and must be respected and followed. You should not be so fond of showing mercy, as to nullify the virtue of the act. Henceforth grant pardon to no one of the enemy and spare none of them, or else all will consider you a weak-minded man. In a subsequent communication, Hajjaj reiterated that all able-bodied men were to be killed, and that their underage sons and daughters were to be imprisoned and retained as hostages. Qasim obeyed, and on his arrival at the town of Brahminabad massacred between 6,000 and 16,000 of the defending forces.

In his book “Hindu Temples – What Happened to Them”, Sita Ram Goel included a list of 2000 mosques that it is claimed were built on Hindu temples. These assertions are primarily based on the books of Muslim historians of the period or the inscriptions of the mosques

Some examples from the middle east.

In many instances mosques were established on the places of Jewish or Christian sanctuaries associated with Biblical personalities who were also recognized by Islam; the practice was particularly common in Palestine. Caliph Umar laid the foundation of Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount, the most sacred site in Judaism; Dome of the Rock

In October 2000, during the Al-Aqsa intifada, the tomb of the Hebrew patriarch Joseph, and the yeshiva inside Od Yosef Chai, located in Nablus, was destroyed by a Palestinian mob and immediately rebuilt as a mosque with a dome painted green

According to the early Muslim historians, the towns that surrendered without resistance and made treaties with the Muslims received permission to retain their churches and synagogues, while in the towns taken by conquest Jewish and Christian places of worship were seized by the Muslims. Modern historians do not consider the process of transformation of churches into mosques to be as regular as the Muslim historians describe it, but in the course of time, the Muslims appropriated many churches to themselves

The Ottoman sultan Mehmet II was the first to perform a Muslim prayer in what had previously been the St. Sophia cathedral.[6] In the winter of 1543-1544 the Toulon Cathedral was transformed into a mosque for the 30,000 crew of the Turkish-Barbary admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa

  3. @Shakir: I think this blog was also owned by a Hindu before. Under Muslim rule, it was snatched and taken by a Muslim. I am going to die laughing.

@Hend: People of all religions have suffered under Hindu rule. Why dont you talk about the barbaric nature of Hinduism.

  4. Hend: I have a suggestion for you. Start a “Taj girao” movement. First dig a few holes near the Taj Mahal and put statues of Ram/Hanuman/Shiva/Laxmi in the holes and fill them up. Then get some sadhu to say that he saw in a dream that the Taj has been built over the ruins of a temple. The planted statues can be “discovered” and this would be enough proof that the Taj too was built over a destroyed temple. Then you can pull the Taj down, and one more symbol of Muslim rule over India will disappear, making people like you immensely happy.

  5. @Hend: You didn’t answer the question I asked you previously. You seem incapable of answeríng simple questions, and due to that frustation you turn abusive. When your abuse is met with abuse, you start crying. I don’t enjoy making you cry like a little boy but you don’t leave me with any options. I’ll give you one last chance of having a normal conversation.

Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) is mentioned in Hindu Scriptures (as well as other Holy books) but Ram is not mentioned in any Holy book. He was a human being, not some God. Admit it. Also, would you like to tell me why there is so much pornography in the Hindu Scriptures? I could have pasted a link but I am not doing so out of respect. So don’t start crying how I am abusing you once again. Answer straightforward questions like a man, if you are a man that is.

While demolishing the mosque, did it not occur to common sense lacking Hindus that it would create further problems. Why should Muslims today pay for what Babar did (if he did anything, that is)? It is true that temples were demolished under Muslim rule but as a whole, Hindus did live in peace. Muslim rulers even helped Hindus. Look at the situation of Muslims under Hindu rule.

Are you nuts? When asked to give proofs, all you can do is quote Quran??? HAHAHA, stop killing me!!!! HAHAHA!!!

Since you seem to believe in Hindu scriptures who you claim to mention Mohamad, I can give you thousand such examples where they mention Rama.

But again you are missing the whole point or probably avoiding it deliberately that Ram Janambhoomi issue is not about the existence of Rama, it is about existence of a Temple at that very spot, called Ram Janambhoomi built by Hindus who believed that Rama was born in Ayodhya. The issue is about illegal destruction of that Temple to build an illegal mosque by Babar.

By the way, bad news for you…the Archeological Survey of India’s excavations have discovered a massive temple structure proving the existence of the ancient Temple.

And please start wearing diapers at night if you are having nightmares about me.

  7. Hend: “can you answer why muslims were damaging everyone’s places of worship? is this what islam teaches?” No, I don’t believe Muslims damaged places of worship, otherwise they would never have been able to rule much of the civilized world (especially India and Spain) for 1000 years. There may have been isolated incidents in which people like the Taliban indulged in destroying temples but the vast majority of Muslim rulers were benevolent. There are hundreds of books on this subject. The Holy Koran teaches Muslims to respect the beliefs of others (even idol-worshippers) and not to attack others except in self-defence.
By the way, can you explain why churches are still being burnt in India today, and why did Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi arrange the slaughter of more than 2000 Muslims (including some of my distant relatives)? I need not remind you that Modi is perhaps the only politician in the world who has been refused a visa by the U.S. government for this genocide of Muslims.

  8. Hend: “If you are generous enough to assume the first part of the statement then OFCOURSE the destruction is justified”. How can it ever be justified? Suppose someone killed my great great great grandfather a hundred and fifty years ago, and today I come across one of his descendants and kill him. Would that be justified?

  9. >>> It seems you have also learnt from Shakir the art of questioning and insulting the faith of others by questioning the existence of Ram.

I was questioning the existence of the human being Ram. I didn’t know that you would consider it as though I was denying the existence of of a Hindu God. I am yet to understand why a Hindu God becomes sick and requires nursing.

    >>>I think this debate will degenerate further if I were to ask you for similar proofs about Allah and the prophethood of Mohammad.

Oh no, buddy. You can ask me for proof and I’ll give it to you. The Holy Quran, which was written 1400 years ago, has been researched by western scientists and doctors today, and the fact that it contains information that could not have been written by a human being has resulted in the conversion of countless Christians. How’s that for proof of Allah (S.W.T.). As for Prophet Mohammad, the Holy Quran tells us about him. I think that is enough proof. Man, even the Hindu scriptures talk about him. Get over yourself. Click on the link I provided you with previously and read it. If you are going to tell me that those scriptures were written by a human being, then I will assume that you follow a religion created by humans and not by God. Now what is insulting in that. I am using your own flawed reasoning or maybe you are trying to escape admitting the prophethood of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.).
