Back To The Age Of Darkness

While I was a kid, I came to know how men started life in this world. They formed communities, societies and lived together in form of tribes. Their residences were dependent on availability of necessities like water, food and crop etc. When their needs increased as compared to availability of this stuff, they started snatching and fighting among them selves. That was the dark age of humanity. They segregated them selves on basis of races, strength, skin and other factors. Then men learned that it is not possible to live with these types of battles and isolation. That thought bring them again near to each other. They restarted to live together and trade together. I am not saying they forgot racism, they forgot their own means and benefits but they don’t do it openly like their history.

Now the time is repeating itself. Its time to tell your children how we lived together when our need was daily food, bread, water and a home to live, then our needs increased day by day and we again started snatching and fighting with each other for these things. We are in the age of lights but we started living like dark ages. Being a Mohajir we know what the cost of migration is, we know how much it is difficult to restart a life at a new place but we forget it because of our own needs.

Yesterday, while rooming in my locality I was amazed to see a local tea hotel (famous as Quetta hotel) shutdown. The reason behind this is a political thought, according to which Karachi is the city of only Mohajirs (People who speaks Urdu and migrated from India after partition of 1947) and they want to expel Pathans ( people of NWFP) in the name of Talibization in Karachi. I also came to know another Pathan shop was burned out last night; he was a poor shoe maker.

What will these things do to Karachi and Pakistan? Are we trying to pose our self in Karachi as a separate nation who can rule Karachi all alone or are we doing it because our leader want it as he needs this type of politics for his career? What about Pakistan? Can we drive taxis, and other public transports? Can we, the local people, run tea stalls? Can we repair our own shoes? What about labor? Can we do construction jobs? Where are we going? Towards advancement, where our mayor is labeled as 2nd best mayor of world (I know its not so true but he deserve to be called no. 1 Pakistani mayor) or towards Afghanistan like situation? What our leader wants from us? Is he is a prophet or god? Are we are bound to do what he says? Don’t we have our own minds and sense where we are going to? To build Pakistan or to destroy it? Where are we, in dark ages or in the time of sands? Allah bless us and keep us away from these type of so called leaders.

Note: Brothers and Sisters, I am Mohajir too. I want to know why you want someone’s life in the name of cast and community? Do you want to support those leaders who neglect what ISLAM says?… Who said what happened if Qadyani and Mirzai don’t accept Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him)?

I appeal to my Pashtun, Brawi, Baloch, Sindhi, Punjabi brothers, every nation and every Muslim, Hindu, Christian and all, please think once before doing something wrong… its not the time for racism, its the time your country. Your country needs you. Support it with your effort and right thoughts. Allah bless us all… Ameen

I have never lived in Krachi thus the bias prevailing against mohajirs if any is not in my knowledge. I do know for a fact that the politics on the basis of language and race can only thrive in small pockets unless armed to the teeth and powered by strong establishment groups. The fact of the matter is, had it been not tagged as mohajirs party it may be swept all accorss Pakistan. People on the other side cannot identigy with their manfesto or manifestation of their public policies. This is a known fact and I think everyone would agree that mohajirs have played a great role in strenghtening pakistan in academic and business feilds. Even today most literate among communities. The position is entirely questionable. When question like why not peace and harmony why not calm, poise and trans-islamic thinking prevails arise, I am but inclined to think that it can only be a conspiracy theory not to let Pakistan thrive. Just for few hundreds or thousands of peple from all communities who are jeaopardizing the fate of millions for their own $millions. This can only be stalled and put to tracj if people voice their cocerns in more strong and emphatic manner. Howsoever I am glad that much progress has already been made in this regard.

History teaches us valuable lesions that one should not repeat wrong things in future as here in your post dark age. Regionalism, racism and separatism are symbols of many developing countries with varying magnitude. Pakistan is famous for the discrimination which mujahir faces. Hope this problem will be solved soon in coming years. Try to find some alternative solutions. Good wishes!

You are right Meher “I hope the leader will listen and better sense will prevail. We must fight against religious, ethnic and racist bigotry. We must fight against the MAFIAISATION of POLITICS.” You know many people like me are so distrub with this act of our own party, which had a cause till 1998 – 99, but then I dont know what happ to them… here I would like to appreciate working of our party as a Local body at Karachi. But for all these development we dont need to shed bloods of people we can live to gather. May ALLAH set all these thing better again AMEEN

Read your blog with a sense of anxiety and confusion. You speak from a human heart a real Karachiite perspective. What is going to happen now to Karachi is going to be hell.It is all part of a grand design to destroy Pakistan. You are bold enough to write this piece in sincerity and perhaps niavette. The ugly head of HATE in the form of ethnicity,Religious violence, political victimization has now firmly entrenched in Karachi like MEDUSAS head.We the ordinary folks will now be just watching a s the biggest mandated party will follow the instructions of its indisputable leader literally.Watch his last address to MQM workers. The irony is we are part of the same diaspora and want to live in peace and harmony. If our elected representatives start behaving as if they are commandos then what will happen?I hope the leader will listen and better sense will prevail. We must fight against religious, ethnic and racist bigotry. We must fight against the MAFIAISATION of POLITICS.
