ANP Rejects Negroponte’s Pressure

NWFP Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani will take oath from Amir Haider Hoti, the Chief Minister Designate of Awami National Party, and it is learned that soon after that, Mr. Hoti would announce the dialogue with the local Talibans and it’s modalities.

It’s nice to see that the frantic meetings of John Negroponte and Richard Boucher have failed to pressurize the daring leadership of Asfundyar Wali. Negroponte and Boucher are of the opinion that Talibans are non-negotiable and the new government must carry on the bloody streak of the previous regime and continue to use force in the Tribal region and allow United States to strike at will.

That’s fine with the America, but that is not at all fine with Pakistan, because after the strikes the suicide bombers struck in Peshawar, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Islamabad and Karachi and not in Washington, New York, Houston, California or Las Angeles. The policy of getting in touch with the militants is very commendable and must be pursued with vengeance without accepting any external pressure.

We know our land, traditions, and people better.
