Petition against Pak Suzuki Motor Company

Pak Suzuki Motor has been spewing out vehicles in Pakistan for almost 25 years now. This post speaks out on the behalf of those people who are the victim of low quality production and highly un-user friendly approach of this plant.

The end-product a customer gets from this plant after a painfully lengthy period is simple a heap of bland garbage. For instance I recently got my Mehran Suzuki Car from a local dealer in Rawalpindi almost 2 months ago and still hasn’t been able to experience the smooth functioning of vehicle. There were many manufacturing faults in it from the outset. Major manufacturing faults were faulty hand brake, loose doors, substandard rubbers, dried up bushes, ill-fitted window glasses. The Rs. 350000+ vehicle hadn’t even got simple cheap things like mud flaps, seat covers, and other small things. Automobile mechanics themselves advice that one has to replace many parts of a new vehicle in order to get some sort of relief.

This state of affair is absolutely unacceptable. If you share the pain, frustration and humiliation, then please join hands to protest against this high-handedness of Pak Suzuki Motors Company by signing the following petition:

Petition against Pak Suzuki Motor Company

    Interesting !!

But can someone please present a price comparison chart of the alternates presented and that of Suzuki Mehran.

May be we can have a better, and complete, view of the picture then.

    Suzuki is problematic but there are some pros too;
    – largest parts availability (unlike the newer and imported ones like Chev, QQ, Vitz etc)
    – low maintenance cost (if maintained properly and regularly) (unlike Cuore)
    – The most affordable car presently available. (all other cars start with a price tag of 450K )
    – Each and every mechanic in the city can handle it (unlike many of the imported cars like Vitz etc)

By the way, I am not a Suzuki dealer or salesman – its just an unbiased view.

@Sema: No I haven’t used it myself. I have heard mixed comments about Chery QQ. It is an imported car so spares and maintenance may be an issue. Also, market-acceptance and resale is low. However I would recommend Chevy Joy if you are looking for a 1000 cc car. It is local assembled with reliable parts and maintenance support.

There you are. Atleast now we have some semblance of medium to vent our anger and frustration. I have been burnt by Suzuki so many times, I am even unable to utter a small squeal.

    My demand?????

Throw them in front of NAB.

Thanks for your kind response. Chery looks good, I would also like to hear from consumer as they are the best source to vet any product.

    Do you use Chery Kashif?
Does any body else use Chery?

    Please respond. thanks.

Interesting alternates Kashif, but I havent heart of Chery QQ. Could you plz shed some light on this brand.

I totally agree with the author and your. Mehran is a curse for us Paksitanis.

Although it’s a bitter fact but Pak Suzuki got away with their substandard vehicles because of us, the buyers. People are so crazy about Suzuki cars that they pay hefty amounts as OWN (premium) to the company and it’s dealers. Mehran is so substandard and dangerous to drive-in that it should be banned altogether. Also, Mehran, Alto and Cultus are based on outdated technology and it’s really a shame paying so much for the cars that have got 8-10 years old transmission system.

Surprisingly Suzuki in India (branded as Maruti) is selling great cars on prices comparatively lower than Pakistan.

There is no shortage of alternates in Pakistan. One can go for Cuore, Chery QQ and Chevrolet LS in 800cc and Chevrolet Joy, Hyundai Santro in 1000 cc. These cars are feature rich d, built with modern technology and have loads of bells and whistles. Also, one can go for an imported refurbished car if spares and maintenance is not an issue.

Tell you what Fahd, you have echoed the voices of lots of Pakistanis here. Suzuki cars are so substandard, we ought to throw them all in Arabian sea along with Dawlance refrigerators.

    Bang on target.
