Another Coffin from India With The Same Old Sad Tale

The coffin of Jameel Ahmad Khan, a Pakistani who died in an Indian jail, arrives at Wagah.JPG

It seems that the biggest democracy has its own way of treating prisoners, especially from the neighboring country. I am referring to Jamil Khan, whose coffin was handed over to Pakistani authorities by the Indians. As always they all die there of natural causes, as our neighbor claim. The unfortunate soul, hailing from Baluchistan was on a trip to Sindh when he somehow crossed the forbidden line, 18 years back. With no real charge sheet he was sentenced to 5 year in prison, but after 18 years instead of shame on still holding him illegally, his tortured body was sent back to his relatives.

This is not the first time that an episode like this has taken place, rather it has become a custom that any captured Pakistani will seldom make it back in full shape. Numerous reports are there where the bodies have been found with drilling and burn marks all over them.

May be the champions of human right, secularism and democracy can shed some light on this treatment, which is a clear demonstration of extremism in their ranks. Our hearts go out with the family, but one feels that at least this ended his ordeal by the hands of Indians.

May be Mr. Ansar Burni gets some thing out of his news. Until now he has earned laughter for campaigning to release proved spies, why not earn some respect by highlighting the sad and brutal stories of people like Jamil Khan?

@hamid, take things positively, at least india does not force him to stand up in a mock court trail, where some time lawyer does not turn up!

@ everyone: come out of the closet. You all have prejudice against India.
    a) Lets put some religious stuff to this discussion. Just for this point. As far as I know all Pakistanis think Indian Muslims are suffering.
Correction: Not every Indian is Narendra Modi and not every Indian Muslim lives in Gujrat. On the contrary, Any Hindu in any part of Pakistan is insecure.
    b) The very basis of Pakistan was Muslims who left India to form Pakistan. They are still Muhajirs, still fighting for their rights and I have last heard, there is a party names MQM or Muhajir Qomi(correct me here) Movement. Any one who came to India in 47 is not called a Muhajir and we dont have any thing similar to MQM.
I am sure 99% of Pakistanis think every Indian hates Pakistan and Pakistanis. Dude, no one will love a person who is insulting one’s mother. Like you, you felt offended and now you hate me more. Nothing wrong. Human nature. If any one be it Pakistani or Irani, insults my country I will hate him or her.
    c) The only trouble Pakistan had and will have is Bangladesh or East Pakistan, which again was result of treating your own Muslims Bengalis as backwards. And now to revenge this, I used the word “revenge”, nearly every one in Pakistan is more Anti Indian than Anti US, which they should be.
    d) Top this with, cricket and some times hockey and other games.
Lets not start a blame game. You wont agree to what I say and you will overlook all or any fact. Human nature, no one wants to be proved wrong in public view.
My friend, I posted this comment just to tell you that, we in India have hell lot of other things to worry and so have you. Choose a better govt which can bring stability in Pak and give you all Pakistanis same set of worries like we have in India. I know posting a comment here will be futile. You wont understand a word but just read and respond.

“may be they have in some way made amendment to the definition of “natural death”,,
which now includes drilling, electric shocks and burning………”

    Hehe…spot on! all is natural.

One has to take the initiative and pressurise the government to wake up and act. We understand that such matters don’tt concern them but they can pretend at times that they are the ruling party of Pakistan, right?

wow….may be you were left out in this case as you dont miss any oppertunity to gain sympathy,,,,,,,,,
we are unfortunate that we are not blessed with leaders who would have gone for “an eye for an eye”…….else you would have found how it is…………..all your bravery is limited to innocent pakistanis either captured while touring India or trespassing……………..this shows what you are by mind frame…………

Look, who is crying? India have been respecting Pakistani sentiments by handing over them the bodies of dead. If I recall, and you may also look at the facts using “unbiased brain”, you will find that Pakistan either didnt hand over the bodies or if bodies were handed over they were mutilated, like, no eyes. Always compare apples with apples, comparing an apple with an orange will always give wrong results.

the most painful thing is that they can never stop protesting to US drone strikes…….but when this matter comes it seems that some force has glued their vocal capability…………protest and independent medical examination is a must so that these cases can be highlighted in a proper manner………..but who will heat there cries?

well i dnt knw much,, but one thing is for sure that as our neighbour is very good in advancement………..may be they have in some way made amendment to the definition of “natural death”,,
which now includes drilling, electric shocks and burning………

Well, they are right. He died as a martyr of natural causes. As in, they tortured him and all but his heart stopped naturally. They didn’t do anything directly to halt its beating.

Many years ago, a man from my place also ended in an Indian jail. Similar circumstances. It was many years before that he was released (alive). His family thought he was dead. Then some relative saw him roaming aimlessly in the city’s streets and took him home. He had lost his memory (of course, another ‘natural’ process) and was all bruised and had broken bones.

He was lucky that he survived their ‘over-friendly’ behaviour at the jail. All the welled-up emotion of gratitude towards the Indian Officers didn’t result in his ‘natural’ death!

May his soul rest in peace. Repeated incidents like this needs to be protested by the government at all levels. God knows when all this injustice ends….. Still waiting……….Sigh
