Allied forces have claimed that they had killed 12 Taliban within Pakistan after the permission from Pakistan, and the spokesman of Pakistan Army has denied this. And the nation is as usual in its apathy or in the state of ignorance.
Pakistani spokesman has categorically refuted this claim made by the allied forces and has said that nobody has asked for any sort of permission in this regard and they didn’t give any permission to anyone. On the other side, American spokeswoman has insisted that this whole affair was in the knowledge of the Pakistani authorities and they are in full cooperation with them. Americans have put all the wreck on Pakistan and allied forces.
Pakistan’s approach in the tribal areas in the US war on terrorism is absurd and weird. At one side, they say that they would themselves deal with the militants and on the other US says that Pakistan has allowed them to strike in its territories. America’s associated press has released some documents which allegedly shows that Pakistan has allowed US to strike in its area. US sources have confirmed that they are not only bombing the Taliban joints in Afghanistan but also in the Pakistani area.
This is a very sorry state for Pakistan. Where is our sovereignty? Where is the sanctity of our borders? Why in the hell US strikes in our areas? Why not we ourselves able to curb the militants? American interests are not important for the Pakistan nation, our own self-esteem, dignity and sanctity is what is paramount for us. President Musharraf should take a stern notice of this alarming situation.
