Tension has been gradually building up between America and Iran over a fair length of time especially after establishment of new government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad . Ahmadinjad has adopted a rather rigid stance towards America and has openly voiced his opinion about Israel, categorizing it as an illegal state. America on the other hand is greatly concerned about nuclear prospects of Iran and is constantly putting pressure on world community to take some action against it. Now the question which is quiet pertinent to this scenario is that will America ever strike Iran.
America in an ideal scenario would have resorted to military action against Iran but taking action against Iran is not as easy as it was against Iraq and Afghanistan. The reason is the current situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. After striking Iraq, America’s aim to impose a democratic rule there has been completely nullified. Iraq is in a middle of a civil war. There is a great unrest between Sunni and shia fractions and shia government has done little to pacify the situation. In middle of all this lie American troops who have no option but to follow orders of government of United States. The government itself it seems is regretting its decision to invade Iraq. In Afghanistan there is a fragile government of karzai who is unable to stabilize infiltration by Al Qaeda fraction.
These two countries were economically fragile and underdeveloped and in comparison to them Iran is an established nation so resistance from Iran would be far more effective. This is the reason why U.S is adopting a pattern of diplomacy. U.S is putting
