Though the summer is receding, and the so called sweet September is just round the corner, also heralding the start of Ramadan in Pakistan, and contrary to the expectations of the people, there is no respite in the power outages and instead of getting shorter, the load shedding has increased many times and there is no one to turn to for the people of Pakistan.
Through the country, the load shedding is on all time high, and the unannounced schedule has really ripped apart the people from Karachi to Khyber. Severe load shedding in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and other cities has badly affected daily life. Offices, colleges, schools, factories, shops and businesses are the worst affected.
The duration of load shedding has reached 16 hours. People are suffering due to continuous load shedding, which is taking place after every hour for 3 hours and the management of WAPDA has failed to overcome the problem. Electricity shortage in the country has reached to the tune of over 4500 MW. The hot and humid weather added to the miseries of the people, not only affecting routine life but also paralyzing business activities.
