Forces of Darkeness – part 2

Jinn inhabit this earth as humans do and their population is estimated at 6 times of human population. Jinn are made up of fire and like humans, they are also either believer of Allah Almighty or non-believer so here by forces of darkness we mean only Non-believer Jinn.

It’s only due to the lack of study of the Holy Quran that some muslims question about existence of Jinn as Jinn are mentioned number of times in the Holy Quran.

The 72nd Surah of Holy Quran is titled as ‘Jinn’.

In the first verse of the Surah Jinn, Allah Almighty says to the Holy Prophet:

1. Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur’an). They said, ‘We have really heard a wonderful Recital!

2. ‘It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord.

There were also incidents when Jinn came to meet the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).’

The well-known scholar Khateeb has stated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir bin Abdullah who stated: “Once, we were traveling with the Prophet (SAW). The Prophet was sitting under a tree for taking rest. All of a sudden, there came a snake near him, took his mouth near the hole of his ear. After sometime, the Prophet took his mouth near its ear and said something. On that, the snake vanished in such a way as if the earth had swallowed it. We submitted to the Prophet that we were very much frightened when you let it reach near your ear. The Prophet told that it was an animal and in fact, it was a jinn who had forgotten a few verses of such and such Surah and the jinns had sent it to enquire about the same verses. Because of your presence, he came changing its form to that of a snake and enquired about the verses accordingly.”

Jinn can change forms and they can also appear in human form. They eat, live in clusters and reproduce. It is said that a Jinn is more powerful than 70,000 humans while an Angel is 70,000 times powerful than a Jinn and a Sufi is 70,000 times powerful than an Angel.

There are many types of Jinn. Hazrat Faqir Noor Muhammad Sarwari Qadari (RA) in his famous book IRFAN gives details of the types of Jinn.

He narrated, “sometimes jinn, satans and evil spirits inhabit a house and frighten and harm the inmates in sleep and in waking. In the whole world there is not any city where this invisible spirit does not reside in any house or building. Such houses are called haunted houses. Some jinn are harmless and far from injuring and harming the inmates of the house but they protect them against other jinn and satans.

Some Jinn, satans and evil spirits possess human beings which upset their health and they fall a prey to incurable disease. But besides physical maladies the entrance of jinn and satans into the human body also adversely affects the morals and conviction. When some human heart or brain is affected by their hellish and impure effects he becomes mad and insane.”

He also informed in detail about jinns who live in mountains, graveyards and near to Butcher shops etc.

Hazrat Ali Usman Hajveri(RA) known as Data Sahib says Jinn dance naked where music is played resulting in feelings of passion. Bad things attract bad forces.

Since jinn can take form of humans, they can also harm by committing crimes like theft, robbery, rape etc. There are many crimes about which people talk that a human can not do an act like this. They are right in saying this. Muslims are protected by Allah who has appointed Angels to guard them but they leave the person if he is impure, in condition requiring Ghusal or away from Prayers.

One can protect himself from evil Jinn by keeping oneself pure and offering regular prayers. Women and small children should take special care as they are more vulnerable.

Is there any tribe of jinn known as ”ghouls” or ”ghuls”? Because i’ve heard by many peoples about this being but some people says its a type of an undead creature which i think is false because something that has died cannot come back. I also heard that this malevolent entity robs graves and feed on corpses.

Jinn are not more powerful than humans it is stated in the holy book that humans are the 2nd most powerful being and allah is the most powerful being . Jinns may be stronger but human have a brain and if you look up Sufi in the quran(holy book) you will find that sufi are humans which have gained power though praying and worshoping God(allah) and believing in him. And also humans are the also promised protection from allah that as long as you believe in him and him only no harm can come to you thats also why humans are the 2nd most powerful in the world.

yes, all the things about Jinn are true. they can be good or bad, I would advise people to read Quran and become stronger Muslims and not be tempted by evil.

i seem to have a problem. things seem to be going bad for me. if i try something, i fail. when somebody else tries it, he succeeds. this has happened for a long time. Could it be possible, as one person said, that there is an evil jinn with me who follows me around and destroys my good luck, efforts, struggles, etc??? Please reply. Thanks.

Nuradine Mussa: Well, I guess there is no harm is reciting the dua regardless if they attack or not. Why take a chance within something so grave!

Someone once said “If you believe in God and God is not there, no problem. But, if you don’t believe in God and God is there, BIG problem”

Mudduser: When humans listen to music, jinns dance naked around resulting in creation of sensual and immoral feelings in humans.

Anything which doesn’t create such type of negative feelings would be permissible. e.g. Sounds of running water.

Note: All the evil acts associated with Jinns refers to acts of Non-believer Jinns. We understand that Believer (muslim) Jinns do not cause harm. We apologise for any misunderstanding in the regard.

you mentioned that jinns dance naked in music resulting in feelings of passion. well in my case i listen to sounds of running water and the like, is this permissible, also, the when listening to music, the jinns dance naked, however who do the feelings of passion be felt by and if its by us humans, would it be because the jinns dance naked?

my brothers and sisters,i have recently fell ill to nightmares(horrifiying),lazyness, very bad thoughts,
i could not stand to look at my wife, anger, and always agrresive.my mom found a muslim jinn healer who wanted to give me a jinn test,i thought it was a joke, but when i went to egypt 2 months ago i took that test.

now you can believe me or not but what happend to me was not funny.i spoke in a weird voice and i moved in a crazy way and when the sheik tried to get him out of me ,the jinn got mad and almost hurt me.

so i tell that person who posted a message saying that jinn are humans and that they are harmless
HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT…i have to live in fear every day of my life.

Jinn shouldn’t be called human beings as Dure Sameen said coz unlike human beings, Jinn are made up of fire. Allah Almighty has addressed humans and jinn separately in the Holy Quran .

They are powerful in sense as they can do certain things which human can’t do e.g. changing shapes, flying etc. Allah has made them with fire and given them power and they can harm humans but not those who are protected by Allah Almighty. Satan who is a Jinn, himself confessed that he would misguide people but not those who are protected by Allah Almighty.

So they can harm humans directly but not to those who are in the protection of Allah Almighty and as already mentioned, we should seek Protection from Allah Almighty by praying, should keep ourselves clean, offer regular prayers and recite Holy Quran regularly.

  19. Dure Sameen July 1, 2006 at 9:21 pm #

Jin doesnt exists , as you poeple think. They are just human being as we are but they keep hidden themselves.

  20. Muhammad Dawood June 16, 2006 at 4:22 pm #

    Dear Muhammad,

You have asked an interesting question. As i have earlier written, most important thing is to keep oneself clean. Children, especially small one needs to be taken care of by elders. Infants shouldn’t be left alone in the room for long, else they’ll be frightened by evil spirits. Small children when not taken care of, can harm themselves under influence of evil spirts by doing dangerous things like swallowing coins, touching electric wires or sharp things.

Women should avoid going out especially at late night. They must also avoid dresses which expose their beauty and heavy perfumes, while going out at night.

Great muslim scholar, Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi, has identified 33 Ayats in the Holy Quran which should be recited to gain Allah’s Protection against the black magic, evil spirits and Jinn. They include
Sūra 109: Kāfirūn, or Those who reject Faith
Sūra 112: Ikhlāṣ, or Purity (of Faith)
SÅ«ra 113: Falaq, or The Dawn
    Sūra 114: Nās, or Mankind

These Ayats are available in the booklet form and called ‘Manzil’. Elders can recite these Ayats from Holy Quran and dum it on water which should be given to children who are suspected of under the influence of Black Magic, Evil Spirits or Jinn.
